Tanoi Cunningham

I stare blankly at the man sitting across from me, today was not the day for him to be perplexing my spirit, however, he decided to do just that. All I wanted was to get this thing over with but no, he wanted to sit down and talk.
I don't know why I even agreed to come and see him after calling everything off last week.
Closure, probably.
Definitely not that.
His mouth was moving but all I could focus on was his attire, he always dressed modestly, as if he was always ready for court, wearing his signature silver Rolex to match his white collar attire.
Always neat and tidy.
A little too neat and tidy for my liking, even after four years he still found some way to annoy me with his presence. Still confused about how I let this relationship run for four years, with little to no breakups because Jaydon Wheeler was such a perfectionist, he just had to be a perfect boyfriend.
Well, his perfection caught up to him and he ruined his reputation.
"Tanoi, are you even listening to me?", the calm yet annoyed voice pulls me back from my thoughts.
Him could never bright waah come be annoyed wid me today, today when mi supposed gone a me yard go sleep.
"Sorry, what did you say?", I ask clearing my throat, "I was just zoned out".
I adjust myself in the chair, finally acknowledging the bustling of the small coffee shop, he could have chosen some other place, especially now that it was rush hour and in no time this place would be filled with noise.
Noise, mi head already a hurt me from Jaydon constantly trying to get my attention.
Girl yuh need fi go home. The voice in my head speaks up.
Soon soon.
"Yuh nuh hear nun weh me seh don't?" Jaydon questions with a raised eyebrow, his face showing how irritated he was.
The only time him feel like speaking in Patois was when he was extremely ticked and at this point, mi could careless what he was feeling like.
"Jaydon the only reason me come here today was to hear what you had to say and frankly nothing you keep blabbering about makes sense" I answered honestly, he kept repeating the same things he said last week when I broke up with him.
And remember fi give back his ring.
All dat to. Me nuh know wah me did a think a get engaged to him in the first place, at one point me did love him but now everything him do turn me off.
As Stalk Ashley said 'Me still young just a girl having fun' me shuda listen and take heed but no, me did too nuff.
To think me leave go England and come back home come find my supposed fiance and him associate inna my bed, the bed me buy, not even me buy but me fada buy.
What a good thing me never nuff and boast bout him because show off always bring disgrace and if me never learn nothing me learn fi always humble.
"I told you it was a mistake" he tries to ration, sighing and leaning back in his chair with his arms crossed over his shoulder.
What a dramatic likkle girl.
After all a weh him do, him waah come try play victim.
"Is that all?" I ask picking up my phone to see the time, just as I glance at it I see my brother's text message saying he's on his way to come and get me.
