Chapter 14

"Ominis...it's Anne!!!" Sebastian breathed hard. holding a letter in his hand as the both of you turned towards him. surprised by the worried and, scared tone that colored his voice.

"What has happened Sebastian?" Ominis turned to his friend concern lacing his words. his voice barely regaining any sense of calmness. in the face of the shaky breath that Sebastian exasperated in worry.

You looked to Ominis noticing how distressed, he felt up on hearing Ann's name. He was worried and nervous. his fists clenching slightly as his nails dug deep in his palms.

'Was he close to her?' You thought silently watching his every move that kept you wondering. brushing off the unsettling feelings that seemed to hover around you. choking you slowly out of breath. you darted your eyes towards Sebastian waiting for him to answer his almost rushed question.

His face darkened as he shifted on his feet coming closer to Ominis and placing his hands on his shoulders.

"She is getting worse Ominis. I received an owl today. She wants to see us! she said that she misses you. and is feeling lonely with uncle Solomon...She isn't doing well...What if...What if.." He started to panic.

His breathing getting heavier and shaky. as his eyes barely held in the tears that glistened in the lights. Ominis gripped his arms slowly, guiding him to a near by chair.

While you stood there with confliction. lost at the scene that was taking place in front of you. memories of the night that your parents died flashing before you. you were scared, lost and terrified like him.

"Dad please...Stop working and take us out to dinner" Ella whined kicking her feet as she sat on the sofa in your dads office.

"Ella you are old enough to go out on your own!...Take Taia and your mother to dinner. I'll get Richard to drive you" He remarked not looking up from his paper work. you closed the book that you were engulfed in reading, and placed it on the table.

This was the norm. most of the days for the Vermin family. On evenings when both your parents were at home. You would settle in your father's office. You, reading your books away and Ella learning as much as she could from him about business.
