I was supposed to skype with Andrew tonight at eight o'clock, but now it's close to nine and I haven't even heard from him. I tried calling him, of course. No luck. I tried texting him too. Still no luck. My brain is overheated from trying to come up with as many plausible reasons for him to be out of reach as possible while my heart is already bleeding, knowing that he probably just forgot about me.

It's a Wednesday night, and Claudia is getting ready to go out. She's waltzing around our room in a very short white dress and black plateau heels. She's spraying both her awful perfume and attitude everywhere, and I can't wait for her to leave.

"What's with the sour face, princess?" she asks me with a sly smile. I think she actually enjoys seeing me in pain.

"It's nothing," I mumble and grab a chemistry book. I might as well get some reading done now that Andrew is not responding.

"Did Loverboy forget about you?" Claudia pouts mockingly, while texting on her phone. I just shrug my shoulders. She's the last person in the world that I'd wanna confide in.

"Speaking of loverboys," she continues with a horrendous smile as she sits down beside me on my bed. "Yesterday I ran into that other lover of yours, the QB, Nate is it? I must confess, I DO understand why you can't let that one go. He really knows what he's doing, am I right?"

"What?!" Suddenly I feel faint. She... what? No! Has she...? Were they? Are they? My head is spinning. "Are you dating Nathan?" I finally manage to ask. My stomach is in knots all of the sudden with uneasy turmoil. I swear to God, if she hurts him, I will kill her! But he wouldn't do that... right? Not her!

"I wouldn't exactly say dating, but I wouldn't mind having another go at him. He was dreamy! He hit all the right places. Oh, would you look at the time, I'm running late. See ya!" And then she's out the door, phone in her hand and a conniving smile on her thin lips.

What...? What did she say?!

I immediately call Nancy to tell her what Claudia just told me. But Nancy's not exactly with me on this one.

"So? Nate is single, he's free to do whatever or whoever he wants to," she says in a flat voice. She can't be serious!

"What do you mean?!" I say, somewhat surprised by my own high-pitched voice.

"I mean... what do you care, Char? You're with Andrew, and you made that very clear to Nate. Let him go. Seriously, let him go. As long as you're with Andrew you can't claim Nate too."

"But I..."

"You know I'm right. I'm not saying this to hurt you, but the fact of the matter is that you shouldn't be hurt by it. You've already got a boyfriend!"

"Okay, yeah," I agree. "But do you think it's true?"

"Why would Claudia lie about it?" Nancy asks, sounding utterly uninterested. What is with her today?!

"Because she's a bitch, and she hates me, that's why!"

"Whatever Char. I don't know... at least you have a boyfriend... Listen, I gotta go to the pool now."

"Okay..."

I don't get it. Why isn't Nancy more supportive? I always support her, goddamnit.

I decide to text Angie to see if she knows what's up.
