Alpha's Bid Part 12

Being away from Porsche for nearly a week really took its toll on him and he felt completely drained, exhausted, and emotionally overwhelmed. To take his mind off things, he immersed himself in redecorating the room where Porsche ha nearly lost his life. The thought of leaving it unchanged was simply unbearable to him. The first time he mustered the courage to enter the room was after Khun dragged him home the next day from the hospital.

He had spent the entire night hooked on an IV because of his shock, and Khun wasn't about to leave him alone in that state. Kinn confided in his brother about what had happened and how incredibly guilty he felt for not staying at home with Porsche.

"Wow, I've never seen you this affected by something or someone. Not even in business. You really care for him, huh?"

"It's insane, right?"

"Not at all. I can totally understand Porsche is a great guy, and he has balls, but not in an asshole kind of way, like your other dates in the past. Omega or not, he has a great personality. I like him a lot. You could have told me you entered the alpha registration program, you know. I would have understood." Khun made himself busy with the needle, and Kinn gaped at him. He hadn't revealed to anyone about it, just Jace.

"What? How?"

"Oh please, you getting an omega like him all by yourself seemed unlikely. More than that, you meeting him through someone seemed unrealistic." he scoffed amused.

"An omega like him? What do you mean?"

"You know, cool and super nice. And have you seen him? He is sexy as hell and with an attitude." Kinn only blushed at the statements.

"He is great, isn't he? Actually, this is kinda funny, but he picked me. Alphas cannot pick omegas in the program." Kinn softly added, sitting comfortably in a big armchair, visibly relaxing.

"See, exactly my point. And yeah, I've noticed that he might not be the type you usually go for, but there's just something about him that clicks with you. It's obvious how much you like him. He'll be alright. His doctor specializes in omegas. So don't blame yourself for what happened; it wasn't your fault."

"Thanks Khun. I will try. It seems that I have bad luck when it comes to partners."

"Don't mention it. And you are not unlucky. I think it's more like a test to see if you care enough about him that no matter what happens, you won't back out of this deal. But what do I know.... Also, you better not have second thoughts because I expect nieces or nephews now, since you're the only one with an omega partner."

"Khun, I'm not backing out.....nephews?" Kinn raised a brow.

"Yeah, what? You know he is an omega, right? That can get pregnant? You do know you can get him pregnant, right? He smirked as he put the IV on Kinn, the other man still looking like a fish out of water.

The next days, he busied himself with choosing other rugs, mattress and blinds. Discarded all the blood stained furniture and called in a team to replace everything. He went visiting to the hospital early in the morning of the 3rd day before Porsche woke up, like he knew it was going to happen. But after the news that his lover had to stay for more days, he deflated. After that, he took some time off from university and stayed with Porsche daily.

Finding out they were mates, or bonded, or whatever the heck was going on, left him with so many questions that he started digging for more information. It kept him up at night as he searched for answers. Unfortunately, his search didn't yield enough information about the intricacies of true mate bonds. He felt lost and exhausted without even realizing it.
