Yue watched the red and blue wisps emerging one after another as though they're guiding her towards the right way inside the pitch black cave: The Dragon's Teeth.

It is located in the hidden part of the Crescent Kingdom where Nightmares of the deceased are stored—where the Time Guardian has been exiled.

As a Nature Guardian, finding secluded places are as normal as breathing as Yue could just ask nature and be served.

Along the cold, shallow way, she suddenly halted when she felt a chilling presence, drifting from one place to another. She might be blinded by its appearance, but she could tell where it will show up. She shrugged to her right, and there, she saw a man, standing in black 𝘘𝘪𝘹𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘶𝘲𝘶𝘯.

His silver hair is almost as long as Yue's; even their hairstyles almost look exactly alike.

From a distant, in a dim light, his boysenberry eyes are still visible. The man even has a beautiful face for a male guardian and it makes Yue feel a little conscious.

"So, you're the creature who dared to disturb my slumber?" He started off in a conceited manner; his raspy voice sent tingles to the wisps that they flickered.

"You must be the Time Guardian, I need the timepiece. I'd appreciate it if you hand it over right away, so we could spare the trouble," Yue answered monotonously in an incredible speed, bypassing the man's concern.

For a moment, he stared into nothingness, finding words to say as Yue caught him almost off-guard. "That's brave of you, woman," he laughed. "Perhaps, you came with a great bargain?"

Yue expected the matter as nothing in the world that they live in can be acquired without something in return.

She swallowed a sigh, taking a few steps closer to him. "Name your price."

A sinister smile curved on the man's lips when he clearly saw Yue's beautiful yet lonely face. He recognized her—of course. Everyone in the Crescent Kingdom does.

The man tapped his chin as though he's thinking. "I could ask you to be my wife, I'd really want to; however, I have something far more important thing to do. It's something that I needed the most, rather, for me to find understanding in this miserable life of mine."

Yue only raised her brows, waiting for him to complete his necessary monologue. The man moved closer, meeting her halfway.

"I know your desire to learn what happened in your past, lady Yue. I know that's your real deal for wanting the timepiece and not just to gain its power to control the four elements and be a better Nature Guardian."

He smiled and reached to one of her hands. "Although it is prohibited for any other guardian to know about their pasts, but since we share the same ground, I'll set you off. I am the only one capable of traveling through time spaces, except for mine."

The corners of Yue's lips curved into a frown. "You want me to look into yours, I suppose?"

The man nodded. "You and I are the only guardians who shares the same loneliness, so I figured out you'd eventually come."

Yue stared into the man's eyes and they spoke nothing, but the truth. He's as desperate as her, that's the only assurance she needed.

Nevertheless, she knows there's a catch as everything the man mentioned didn't include the bargain, but before she could even ask, everything had already started warping and the only thing that her eyes could focus is the old timepiece on her hand.

"You only have a minute..." the Time Guardian's voice echoed.

She blinked.

She blinked again.

This time, the scenes slowly became clear, and now she's standing in a puddle of blood.

"She's dead, b-boss."

She looked back when she heard a voice emerge and saw two men standing. She momentarily froze. They look extremely familiar.

One of them, who wore a black Tangzhuang, shrugged to his right. Now, she has seen his face clearly. It was the Time Guardian and in front of him lies a lifeless body of a woman.

Yue's lips parted—it's her. She's about to approach them when she felt something in her hand. A dagger covered with blood.

Furrows formed on her forehead. She didn't understand what's going on.

No. Perhaps, she understood everything; however, she refuses to believe what her mind already remembers.

From her quivering hand, the dagger slipped; nonetheless, the moment it fell on the ground, it magically turned into a timepiece—the timepiece—and broke into pieces.

Yue looked up to meet the Time Guardian's misting eyes.

"I-It's you..." his voice broke and attempted to approach her when she placed a hand in between them.

"Stay away," Yue's jaw clenched and immediately left, eyes dimmed with tears.

Now, she finally understood why she's bound to live in sorrow for all eternity. She had taken her own life despite the villagers' sacrifices in order to save her.

The moment she stepped out of the cave, she held her head up and talked to the moon, her only friend, but it didn't respond.

She cried and begged for it to hear her yet she could no longer hear its voice. Eventually, she'd come to realize that the price of finding out her past is the only refuge that she had in her current life.

Yue closed her eyes, feeling the night breeze brushing against her misting cheeks. Slowly, she opened them and raised a hand to where a little gast of wind is starting to form in spiral.

"So, this is what it feels like to actually control nature," she muttered, calming the wind she created until it disappeared.

"I won't let our friendship be put into waste," her eyes travelled back to the moon. "Not this time. Not ever again. Thank you, my moon."

Yue bowed before turning back and walk away.
