"Only one more week until summer break! Do your best on final exams." The principal vibrantly made the morning announcements as I quietly slipped in through the door, right as the bell rang. Luckily, the teacher didn't notice me. I sat down in my desk, laying my head down. Aside from my eventful morning, school went by pretty fast that day. It was later that night when things escalated. I decided i would go meet with Red and discuss our next move, but halfway to the usual meeting point, I received a text from an unidentified number. It read: [Go to the burned down building, towards the main road downtown. I will wait for you.] I started trying to figure out who it was that had somehow obtained my number. It might be Scarlett, texting from a new phone. But why would she want to meet there of all places? I smiled at the thought of getting to see her, but something didn't feel right. I decided to go, but to maintain caution. I walked to the burned down building, which had been a restaurant a long time ago. It was more like an empty lot between buildings at this point. Deciding to go in through the back, I stealthily climbed up the crumbling brick wall to get a peek into the lot. No one had arrived there yet, so I decided to prop myself up in the corner and wait. That's when a large man stepped out from around the corner. He had on plastic gloves, and a black ripped up hoodie. I tried to hide myself behind the wall, but he looked directly at me, throwing his hood off and laughing maniacally. It was the boogeyman. I remembered that laugh from my nightmare. This was the first time i'd seen his face up close; he had a twisted grin, messed up dirty blonde hair, that scar on his face, and monstrous blue eyes. I decided now was the time to try and take him down. Fighting against the fear in my heart, I leaped down from the wall, and charged forward. He started laughing, and dodged my first punch, coming up with a hard uppercut that caught me in the jaw. I jumped back, my jaw throbbing. He began to speak. "I will have you this time, vampire. Let's see how your insides look!" He brandished a large knife from under his hoodie, moonlight reflecting off of the sharp blade. He came forward, slashing at me. I dodged, and swept his feet out from under him with my leg. I then stomped down on his wrist. He let go of the knife in pain. In my moment of victory, i did not notice him slash out with a small blade in his left hand. The hidden knife caught me off guard, and cut my waist. I jumped back at the last moment, so it didn't cut deep. Although it stung, I knew it would heal quick. Before he could reach for the other knife, I came forward with a powerful kick that clipped him in the jaw, making him slam back into the floor. I then felt the cut begin to sting like crazy. My pain was evident, because he noticed and began laughing. "That knife was coated in watered- down sulphuric acid. It won't kill the likes of you, but it's going to hurt." I started to feel like my skin was burning. The wound began to heal itself, but it would not heal all of the way. In my moment of weakness, he ran forward, grabbing me by my shirt and throwing me hard into the wall. He then raised his fist for a punch. Although i felt dizzy, I managed to stand up in time and catch his wrist, slamming my forehead into his nose. I heard a loud crack as he fell back, grasping his broken, bloody nose. I then used my new-found speed. I jumped forward lightning fast, raising my fist to strike. His hand darted out, catching me by my throat mid-air. He got close to me, looking into my eyes. He smelled like vinegar and rotting corpses. "You underestimated me, vampire. Now you will die." As he tightened his powerful hands around my neck, I jabbed him in the stomach with my knee as hard as i could. He loosened his grip, and i kicked him in his already broken nose. This made him grunt in pain as he dropped me. I started to run away, and heard him chasing me. He tried to grab me, and I reached down and picked up his knife, stabbing him in the forearm. I then climbed over a wall, making a run for it. My thoughts were whizzing around in my head, almost at a faster pace than my feet were moving. I need to be stronger.Blood-my blood-was seeping through my shirt. I kept running until I reached the street I lived on. I looked over my shoulder, and noticed he was still coming after me. I decided to go the opposite direction from my house for obvious reasons. I then relaxed my whole body, taking deep, calming breaths. I then leaped forward, breaking into a run faster than i could blink. Out-running him in no time, i stealthily made my way home using a different route. I have to meet up with Red...

He felt so angry that it almost distracted him from the excruciating pain he felt all over. Why did i let him get away?! He made his way back towards his home. Home is where the heart is. Opening the rusted door, he made his way down the old metal stairs towards his lair. He smiled as he stroked his fingers across a large meat hook hanging from a pipe above the bottom of the staircase. He looked at all of his toys. Numerous knives, needles, guns, and blades. He had always liked to cut things. This was his laboratory. He used his knowledge of  science and the human body to run experiments here, in his comfortable room. He looked at the shelf where his different specimens were. Many different body parts were in jars, and the skin cells were among his favorite. If he could figure out a way to manipulate the skin cells using the correct chemicals, he could give himself the abilities he longed for-the abilities of a vampire. His father had been a doctor for the Order. One night, after the usual experimentation period, two vampires killed his father. Ever since that fateful night, He had lost his mind. Even if he was at peak physical condition, he could not match the skill of the vampires. For his whole life, he had been boiling with hatred and jealousy for the monsters, injecting himself with different fluids he obtained from the Order. He had gotten a sample of the young vampire's blood tonight. This is going to be the night i succeed. I will destroy them all. His insane laughter could be heard for miles.

I had to sneak in my house. I didn't want to risk my mother seeing me wounded. I fell into my bed, bloodied and exhausted. Red's voice appeared in my head. I will make sure you are safe. Rest, and your wounds will heal by morning. I felt reassured by this. I quickly fell asleep, wrapped in my covers. In my dreams i saw a man in a white suit saluting a man that looked like a king. The man in the suit began to speak. "I have found the specimen we needed, sir." They both stood in front of an army of men, armed with rifles and bayonets. The high ranking man turned to look at the man in the suit, and he nodded his head. "You have done a good job. We are one step closer to discovering their secrets." The suited man lowered his salute and followed the man. They opened large metal doors, and walked into a large bright corridor where a person was strapped to a table. A vampire. The vampire looked like he hadn't eaten in weeks, and had bruises all over his body. He flinched at the sight of the two men, fear in his eyes. "Please don't hurt me again...please!" The high ranking man slapped him hard across the face, causing blood to come out of his mouth. "Do not speak to me, scum!" The two men continued down the corridor, passing many different torture rooms. They came to a large room with white walls and a large glass container in the middle of the room. "This progress is all thanks to you, doctor." After that, everything went dark again.
