This is an AU where during summer break, Harry, Ron and Hermione manage to meet up. Ron and Hermione come up with the grand idea to invite Harry to a wizarding pool they found. Just some context for this chapter.

Hogwarts Year: Four (going into four, technically, since it's summer break)

Also, let me know if I should make a part two for this bc I'm thinking about it- ^^

"No."

     "Harry—"

     "No."

Harry stood with Ron and Hermione in front of their car, his arms crossed, wearing a baggy T-shirt over his swimsuit. "We are not going to the pool," Harry said firmly.

"But mate, you're already dressed for it," Ron said, his arms crossed.

     "I changed my mind."

"Harry James Potter," Hermione said sternly, sounding like an angry mom. "Come on. It will be fun."

Harry sighed. He didn't want to say the real reason why he didn't want to go to the pool—he didn't want to think about the horrible memories of going swimming with the Dursleys. Now, he stood here, his two best friends trying to get him to go.

"I just don't know, Hermione," Harry muttered, looking at his friends. "I just haven't been to the pool in a while, I guess."

Hermione sighed, looking at Ron. Ron looked at Harry, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Just give it a shot, mate," Ron said, looking at Harry with a hopeful expression. "Please? For us?"

Harry thought about it. He looked at his friends, then the packed pool bags, then the car. It would be fun—just three teenagers going to wreak havoc at a pool, have some fun. He thought about it for a minute, then finally nodded. "Okay. Let's go."

Hermione and Ron grinned, and they practically dragged Harry into the burgundy Jeep Ron owned. The drive took a bit but they finally pulled up at the pool. It was crowded, but that wasn't Harry's concern. He pushed back the old memories and got out of the car.

The three claimed a bench with an umbrella and began to unload their stuff. Harry looked longingly at the pool, dying to get in it, but memories still washing over him. Of how Dudley would push him underwater. Of how Vernon and Petunia would make him sit out of the pool if he accidentally splashed Dudley. Of how they made fun of him in every single bathing suit he wore. It was terrible.

Ron nudged Harry eventually. "Wanna get in, mate?" he asked his friend, grinning. Harry snapped back to reality and returned a weak grin, nodding. Without hesitation, Ron angled himself toward the pool and jumped in with a splash. Harry rolled his eyes but grinned at the action and he quickly took the top cover up off and copied Ron's movements.

The two messed around like two younger children at the pool for a few minutes. Hermione came and sat at the edge of the pool, watching the two. She rolled her eyes. "Honestly, you two are acting so immature," she said, crossing her arms.

Ron swam toward Hermione. "Oh, come on Hermione," Ron said, grinning. "Just a group having fun." Without warning, he pulled Hermione into the pull, causing the girl to gasp, then start laughing. Ron and Hermione started their own splashing contest and Harry swam away, leaving them to that.

Harry pulled himself out of the pool and sat on the edge as Hermione had done. He watched everyone in the pool, just relaxing. Suddenly, he felt someone sit next to him.

"Well well, what do we have here?" the person said in a familiar voice, a voice that made Harry turn to the person. There sat Draco Malfoy, his arch nemesis, smirking.

Harry's eyes widened. "Malfoy? What are you doing here?"

He shrugged. "Blaise and Pansy dragged me here. They're somewhere—I don't know. What about you, Scarhead? Fancy bringing out your mermaid genes and come for a swim?"

Harry cringed and rolled his eyes at the last sentence. "No. Ron and Hermione asked me to come here."

"Ah. So we were both dragged here against our will?"

     "Pretty much."

Draco snickered, looking away from Harry and looking into the water. Harry looked at the water and randomly felt the memories of the Dursleys coming back, the ones he'd thought about earlier. The thought of those torturous times made Harry wince at the thought, and Draco noticed, frowning.

"What?" the taller boy asked. Harry quickly shook his head, but Draco wasn't budging. He smirked. "What? What is it? Or are you seeing things?"

Harry glared at Draco and muttered, "None of your business."

Draco looked at him, tilting his head. Harry looked away at the action—he found it strangely cute but only for a moment, as he went back to thinking of Draco as his enemy. "I'm not giving up until you tell me," Draco said, looking at Harry.

Harry sighed. "Not that you'd care, but when I was younger, I lived with my mum's sister, her husband, and their kid. They weren't the nicest to me. When they'd bring their kid to the pool, I'd have to tag along. Their kid, my cousin, would push me underwater, and the whole pack of them would make fun of the way I looked in a bathing suit. And more stuff. I'm just remembering that stuff." The younger boy looked at his enemy and was surprised to see flickers of sympathy in his eyes.

Draco looked at the water, before speaking. "Don't think about that, you're not dealing with that right now. And the bathing suit thing? Don't listen to that."

"It was a long time ago, it's fine," Harry muttered, though it wasn't.

"No. No it's not. You look amazing in a swimsuit and if they can't or couldn't see that that's their problem."

Harry's head snapped up, eyes wide. He was silent, before saying, "I...look...amazing? You just...complimented me?"

Draco hesitated, before blushing, realizing what he had admitted. He looked away from Harry. "I'm just...I'm..."

"Thank you," Harry said, cutting him off. Draco looked at him. Harry smiled. "You look pretty great in a swimsuit too," he said playfully, noticing the older boy blushing at the comment.

"Oh, shut up," Draco said, looking away.

Harry smirked. "Make me," he said, playful tone remaining. Slowly, Draco looked at Harry, a smirk coming to him. He quickly did some sort of fancy move and before Harry knew it, he and Draco were in the pool together.

Draco pulled him underwater, grinning. Then he remembered the trauma Harry had from that exactly and immediately went up. "Sorry," Draco said, looking at Harry, expecting to see him mad. But Harry shook his head.

"It's funny when you do it," the shorter boy said, grinning cockily. "Because you're not hurting me."

The Slytherin smirked again instantly. "Well, in that case..." He lifted Harry up and dropped him in the water, diving under with him. Under the water, he opened his eyes, only to see Harry laughing inaudibly. He didn't know why the sight caused him to stare at the boy. Harry opened his own eyes and noticed the staring, making the best smirk he could underwater.

And in that moment, the shorter boy dove forward underwater and kissed the taller boy, and it was the most magical thing either boys had ever experienced.

A/N

Woohoo! What is this...my seventh oneshot now? Idk lol...anyway, hope you're enjoying these. Also, a quick note. Harry mentions in this chapter being bullied because of how he looks in a swimsuit. Reader, just know, if you're ever feeling self-concious about how you look in any outfit, swimsuit or normal clothes, or just self-concious with yourself in general...don't listen to the negative thoughts. I myself have a lot of self-conciousness and it seems bad in the moment, really bad, and it's the same for others too. But listen. You're amazing just the way you are. The way you look doesn't matter, you look fine, I promise. And if anyone tries to drag you down, don't you dare let them. Anyway, on that note, thank you for reading!
