Hogwarts Year: Three

Harry really loved the fall. He always had. He didn't know if it was the weather, or the beauty of the nature's colors, or something else, but something about the season made him rather drawn to it. So as he sat outside wearing a Gryffindor sweater, he felt at peace, for it was the first day of fall.

Hermione and Ron said they'd be coming if they managed to finish tutoring in time—Hermione tutored Ron in Potions because he could not get an Outstanding if it was for his life. But Harry figured it'd also turned into a long session of cuddling as well, so he just sat alone, fully fine with enjoying the day on his own.

That was, until a familiar blonde-haired boy walked out to the courtyard. Harry's eyes found him and he quickly looked away—he didn't feel like talking to Draco Malfoy right now. From the corner of his eye, he saw the older boy sit against a tree and shiver against the cool breeze slightly. That gave Harry his full attention. Should he make sure he wasn't cold? But why would he—they were arch enemies? At the same time, however, Harry felt the kinder side of him kicking in and didn't want Draco to catch a cold. He slowly stood up, taking his sweater off in the process, leaving him in the normal Hogwarts white shirt. But he didn't mind the coolness of the wind—it was rather comforting to him.

He walked over to Draco and called lightly, "Malfoy." Draco looked up with his gray eyes, which flickered to recognition and confusion when he saw the younger boy. Harry looked at Draco's eyes—had they been that pretty before? Harry refused to believe he necessarily found Draco attractive, but something about the spirals and detail of his eyes seemed to be pulling Harry in, and he found him staring at his eyes with a light blush painted on his skin.

"Well? Yes, Potter?" Draco said, after a minute of Harry being silent. He'd noticed Harry staring into his eyes but didn't say anything. Harry snapped out of the unfamiliar trance and looked away from Draco. He awkwardly held out his sweater, looking at the ground.

"Uhh...you looked cold," Harry said slowly, trying to not focus on Draco's eyes he longed to look at again. Draco blushed furiously, realizing what Harry exactly was offering. This enemy wasn't exactly seeing Harry as his enemy right now, clearly.

"Why would I take your sweater?" Draco asked, trying to frown. Harry shrugged, still not looking at Draco. Draco hesitated, looking at the sweater, then at Harry. You've had a crush on him for so long, Draco, Draco thought to himself, trying to calm him down, but he hates you, no way this is even happen.

There was much silence being carried in the air. But finally, Draco outstretched his hand and wrapped his fingers around the material of the sweater, taking it and then finally putting it on. Harry looked at Draco in surprise, trying to ignore the flooding thoughts that his own enemy was wearing his sweater, and for some reason, he loved it. The two accidentally locked eyes and those gray eyes pierced the green ones.

"Your eyes are beautiful," Harry thought out loud. He didn't even realize he said that out loud until he noticed the redness of Draco's face. Harry blushed himself, looking away from Draco. "Just...just stating the...obvious..."

"Are you feeling okay, Potter?" Draco said, but it wasn't sarcastic, more of a question, like he couldn't believe Harry was acting like this.

"No, I don't think so, someone must've like...I don't..." He looked back at Draco, and seeing those eyes again...those eyes...why hadn't he noticed them before? He'd never paid any mind to Draco's eyes, only his personality, but those eyes...something was drawing him to them. There was no way he could love someone he loathed, but the eyes screamed otherwise.

"Well, thank you," Draco said. He smiled, to Harry's surprise. "Your...your eyes are lovely too."

Harry felt himself blush. What had him feeling like this? He was gay, but not for Draco Malfoy. He nodded his thanks and started to walk away.

"Where are you going, Potter?" Draco called, sitting up more slightly. Harry turned back around, surprised. There was no way Draco would want him to stay.

"Away," Harry said. The last part came out a bit more cold, "It's not like you'd want me near you anyway.

Draco frowned, but then a small smirk appeared on his face. "You can't just give me your sweater and leave, Potter."

Harry thought about this. That was true. Reluctantly, he went to sit next to Draco.

"You're not going to be mean to me, right?" Harry asked as he sat down, sounding far more vulnerable than he intended it to.

Draco laughed. That laugh—the sound made Harry's stomach flutter. What was even happening?! No, absolutely no way he could randomly develop a crush on his enemy!

     Right?

When Draco stopped laughing, he said, "No, Potter, I rather enjoy your company." He shifted in his seat, and smirked, noticing Harry's faint blush at his comment. "It's not every day such a cute kid comes to give you his sweater," Draco said with a wink. Harry's face went crimson and he looked away from Draco.

"Stop teasing me," Harry muttered. Draco smirked again and gently grabbed Harry's chin, making him look toward him.

"Who said I was teasing?" Draco said. Harry looked surprised at his comment and it only made him blush more.

"Draco, we hate each other," Harry said, not evening realizing he'd used his enemy's first name.

At the use of the name, Draco blushed slightly, never hearing Harry use that name before. But he just smiled sweetly at the younger boy, before saying, "But that could change, couldn't it?"

And Harry thought about that. He hated Draco, he always had. But then he looked at those gray eyes again, the pure happiness in them, the sincerity, the...love? Harry blushed again, but then kept his focus on Draco. He wouldn't have to argue with him anymore. No more yelling. Friendship, and maybe something more would be built. Harry managed a smile as the blonde boy stared at him almost.

"I'd want that to change anytime, Draco."
