Hogwarts Year: Three

Ron opened his chocolate frog, turning the card over and groaning, slamming it onto the table of the Gryffindor common room. "Dumbledore again! God, all these years and it's still him!"

Hermione laughed, looking up from her homework, her feet propped up on the couch as she sat sideways in a recliner next to the sofa. "That's why you don't waste your time on them," Hermione said, smiling at Ron. Ron rolled his eyes and nudged Hermione, but couldn't help but crack a small smile.

Harry opened his own chocolate frog, sighing as he also put down a Dumbledore card in the pile of Dumbledores that Ron and Harry had collected from their chocolate frog haul. The two had gotten so many and decided to open them all, trying to complete Ron's card collection. Harry watched his frog hop away and then looked at Ron. "Do you ever imagine what it would feel like to taste the frogs?"

     Ron shuddered. "Probably slimy."

Hermione rolled her eyes, looking at the redhead. "Honestly Ronald, it's not a real frog. It wouldn't be slimy."

"How would you know?" Ron asked, raising an eyebrow. The brown haired-girl and redheaded boy continued arguing about the taste of the famous sweet. Hearing chips of their argument, Harry got curious. He smirked to himself and grabbed another chocolate frog box, flicking his wand before opening it—a spell to freeze the chocolate frog inside. He looked at Ron, tapped him on the shoulder.

"Watch this," Harry said, smirking and opening the box. Ron watched him open the box and watched the frog...leap out. Harry frowned and stood up, watching the frog leap away. "It didn't work, I'm gonna catch the frog!" Harry said, running after the frog.

"Mate!" Ron yelled, sitting up. "Just get another—"

The redhead heard the painting slam shut, and he sighed. "—frog," he finished, frowning, and Hermione laughed at his failure to get Harry to stop.

Meanwhile, Harry chased after the frog, running up the moving steps of Hogwarts. The frog was fast, but he was determined to get it and eat it, no matter what. He shot spells at the frog but missed a few times.

Finally, he came to a halt as he heard a random voice yell, "Petrificus totalus!" and the frog froze in the air, mid jump. Harry bent down to pick it up but a pale hand grabbed the frog first, swooping down. Harry looked up, frowning, and quickly recognizing the pale, drawing smirk he was receiving from Draco Malfoy, his nemesis and...well..."small" crush.

"Well, Potter," Draco said, smirking and holding the frog in his palm, "may I ask why you've been chasing a frog?"

Harry frowned, blushing at the fact he'd been caught doing something that seemed so ridiculous. "I wanted to try to taste the frog, so I tried to catch it."

Draco's smirk grew. "And you didn't just freeze it?"

Harry's green eyes met Draco's gray eyes but quickly looked away, muttering, "I tried to."

"Hm." The taller boy looked down at the shorter one, before splitting the frog in half and putting a piece in Harry's hand, literally taking Harry's hand and putting the frog into it. Secretly, he fancied Harry too, and a random situation like this he could use to his advantage.

     So of course, he did.

Harry blushed and so did Draco, and it was very obvious since Draco was quite pale. But Draco wasn't ashamed of that and was not afraid to add, "You're so dumb it's cute."

Harry's face went redder and he looked at Draco, eyes wide. "What has gotten into you?"

Draco shrugged, and leaned a bit closer. "You're dumb, as I said, Potter. Try to use that pretty little brain to find out." And he winked and walked away, smirking.

Harry stood there, blushing and holding a chocolate frog. What the actual heck had even just happened? He blinked a few times, before looking at the frog, and eating the whole half in one bite. It was chocolatey and smooth, not slimy at all. Harry smiled to himself, and with that, started walking back to the common room.

     As for the Draco situation?

Well, the two boys absentmindedly decided by themselves nobody would know. Nobody but the two boys, who definitely knew the small sparks that had been flickering by the bullying from the years had started a roaring flame that held not a strong hatred, but a strong desire and fire of love.
