Rimuru's venture into Hollywood was supposed to be another playful, theatrical moment in his journey. With his confident swagger, he navigated the sea of celebrities, flashing a charismatic smile here, offering a grandiose remark there. But things quickly spiraled into unexpected chaos the moment someone innocently remarked, "Wow, he looks like a Greek god!"

Rimuru, never one to miss an opportunity for dramatics, spun around with a flourish. "Ah, my dear mortals, how kind of you. But I must correct you I am no mere Greek god." He struck a pose, his hand dramatically resting on his chest. "I am Demon Lord Rimuru Tempest! A being far beyond your understanding, a ruler whose power and charm exceed even the greatest of legends."

He expected the crowd to laugh or applaud, but instead, someone chimed in, completely derailing his performance.

"Ohhh, so you're like a runaway prince? Escaping an arranged marriage or something?"

Rimuru’s smile froze mid-flourish. His grand persona flickered as the comment struck closer to home than he’d have liked. His mind flashed back to his father’s attempts to marry him off to some goddess, and he stammered for a moment, completely thrown off his usual rhythm.

“N-No! That's not... I mean, that's completely—” he began, awkwardly tugging at his collar. He was suddenly acutely aware of all eyes on him, the air growing thick with anticipation.

The crowd waited, sensing the tension in his voice. The atmosphere that had been lighthearted just a moment ago took on an awkward stillness. Rimuru desperately tried to recover.

“Uh, listen,” he said, trying to wave off the topic with a nervous chuckle. “I'm not running from anything! I just... well, I needed a little break, that's all. Not like there's a marriage situation or a family... thing going on...” His voice trailed off as he realized he was digging himself deeper into the very hole he was trying to escape from.

The silence stretched for a painful beat before someone, clearly picking up on the awkwardness, decided to play along. “It’s okay! We get it. You’re a prince in hiding, taking a day off from royal duties.”

Another joined in, their tone teasing, “Yeah, trying to dodge that royal wedding, huh? Don’t worry, we won’t tell your dad.”

Suddenly, a few in the crowd started nodding, others chuckling, and soon enough, the entire room seemed to be in on the joke that Rimuru was, in fact, a runaway prince dodging a royal wedding.

Rimuru’s carefully crafted persona completely unraveled in that moment. His head dropped, and he sighed dramatically, raising his hands in mock surrender. “Alright, alright, you’ve caught me! I confess. I fled my kingdom to escape the horrors of... paperwork and royal matchmaking.”

The crowd burst into laughter, Rimuru scratching the back of his head in mock shame. But the comedic spiral wasn’t over just yet.

One particularly bold guest added, “So, when’s the wedding? Do we get invites?”

Rimuru blinked, trying to stay on top of the now wildly chaotic conversation. “Oh, it’s, uh… it’s postponed! Indefinitely. Maybe forever!” He waved his hand, as if casting away the very thought.

The same guest didn’t let up, grinning. “Well, if you’re looking for volunteers to fill the role of your bride, I’m sure there’s plenty of interest here.”

Rimuru choked on his next sentence, caught completely off guard. The whole room roared with laughter, and Rimuru was left standing there, blushing—yes, blushing—trying desperately to regain some level of dignity.

“I… uh…” He fumbled, at a complete loss for words. “You’re all too kind. I’m afraid, though, my heart belongs to... well, my paperwork, as boring as that sounds!” He quickly redirected the conversation, but the damage was done.

By the time he finally managed to extract himself from the crowd, he was mentally vowing never to underestimate Hollywood’s ability to turn the tables on him. As he walked away, he could still hear the crowd laughing, and despite his earlier embarrassment, even Rimuru had to admit it had been a pretty good joke.

“Well, that could’ve gone smoother,” he muttered to himself, chuckling despite it all.
