Akutagawa's Point Of View

"Akutagawa."

Huh? I turn around, only to see a gun being pointed at me and Jinko glaring at me.

I had no idea what to think, what to say, because this wasn't something I expected. "J- Atsushi, what are you doing?" I asked, remaining calm. Jinko, or Atsushi, only stayed quiet before replying with, "Killing you."

Why though? I bit my lip. Are you the murderer?

"None of this makes sense." I say, keeping eye contact with Atsushi. "It doesn't need to." He answers, still tightly holding the gun.

"Are you the murderer then?"

Atsushi stared at me coldly at my question. He lowered his gun. "Yeah." he answered. I was still confused, so I kept asking questions. "So, that time you got stabbed, did you stab yourself? Did you make that man you said was the murderer up?"

Atsushi shook his head. "No."

I stayed silent. How does that make sense?  "Explain."

Atsushi was clearly hesitant to explain. He gripped his gun harder and sighed. "I killed that man at the first day, I framed Junichiro, I killed Naomi, I put that sleep serum in Ranpo's drink, and I'm also the person that left that note with your name when Naomi died." he explained, staying completely quiet after.

"However," He said again, and I looked up at him. "I didn't kill Yosano, your sister, some other random people, and I didn't stab myself." He clarified, breaking eye contact. "I don't know who did it."

"There's.. a second murderer?" I question aloud, and Atsushi slowly nods. "I think so."

"Why do you want to kill me anyway?" I continue to ask. "Because that was the goal from the start. You're my last kill. If I get arrested before I kill you... I won't be leave at all. There is no possible way for me to leave." He explained.

No way at all for him to leave this book? Poe sure is evil.

"What about us? What if you successfully kill me before you get arrested?" I mutter. "Then I leave. Except there is a way for you to leave. All you have to do is die in some way, and it doesn't even have to be a murder! You can literally just get yourself killed." His voice rises halfway, like he's so angry, and then he scoffs. "But then I can't leave at all if you win. And if there is I will probably take forever."

Atsushi breathes heavily and I just stare at him. He seems so mad. My eyes focus on his gun, knowing that's probably going to be reason I'm going to die.

"Why is your goal to kill me anyway?"

Atsushi stayed unresponsive for so long I came to the assumption that he was avoiding the question. I sigh. "So, you're going to kill me now?" I ask him, and his attention draws back to me. He points his gun at me again, and I couldn't help but notice that he was shaking. "Yeah."

"Do it." I say, glaring at him. "Besides, you want to leave, don't you?" I give a small smile. I'm going to have to say it. I think, pressing my lips together.

Before Atsushi pulls the trigger, I speak. "By the way," I say, Atsushi looking at me, clearly a bit annoyed. "What?"

"I love you." I say, half-heartedly.

"What?-"

Atsushi pulls the trigger and he missed. I grin. "That was a lie."

The bullet went through the floor, and we could hear people panicking downstairs.
