Part 15 - Anna POV

THE NEXT DAY

She woke up bright and early, as soon as she did she took a quick shower and wore her field clothes which were her standard issue military pants which were black as well as a long sleeved tee and her bullet proof vest. She tied her hair back and sat on her bed to wear her boots then lace them up. 

Once that was all done, she wore her normal make up and then left her room. She heard some country music playing out of his room and she rolled her eyes then shook her head. She knew they would have breakfast in the common area downstairs so she knocked his door.

"Graves!" she yelped and he turned the music off, "be out in a while" he said and she sighed, "okay, I'm headed down to eat!" he said, "wait for me!" she sighed, "fine! Hurry it up! I'm hungry!" she replied and she sat down on the couch, she checked her phone and there was no cell phone service. 

She gave up on it and looked around the living area and found a worn down book which was in Russian. She looked at the title then rolled her eyes, "The Great Gatsby" she read and began reading the first page as Graves emerged from his room, "ready?" he asked her and she nodded, she bookmarked the page by folding the page and placed it on the coffee table

He saw it and asked her, "what book is that?" and she smiled, "The Great Gatsby" she replied, he looked down at her then said, "Oh I almost forgot" she looked at him, as he grabbed her face and kissed her passionately. She couldn't help it and she grabbed his arms and pulled them around her, they held each other standing there for a while kissing. "Okay now we need food" he said as he heard her stomach grumble, which made her giggle and blush, "sorry, I haven't eaten in hours" she replied, "I forget you never eat before a flight" he said to her as they left the room and he locked it behind him.

She nodded as they headed to the lift, "yeah well it's either I eat and puke on a flight then feel awful the entire flight or I stay hungry then have a large meal after we land" he looked at her as they entered the lift, "thanks Anna" she looked at him and smirked, "what for?" and he whispered in her ear, "For letting me kiss you" she nodded and blushed.

They joined the rest of the shadow company and troops, they did notice some other military men there too and as they took their food and sat down Anna's ears suddenly perked up, "Russian?" asked Graves and she nodded, "yea, apparently they are staying here as well" she looked at Graves and whispered to him, "I thought we were working with the Ukrainians?" and he shook his head and said, "I will tell you more upstairs for now you keep listening to what they are saying" and she kept a poker face as the Russian soldiers spoke.

As she ate, she heard them saying, "fuck, I'd love to get my hands on that woman" another said, "I'm sure us three can take her on and ruin her" "come on man, as soon as I'm done with her, she will be ruined" which made them laugh. Graves looked at Anna's face redden as she was getting pissed off, Graves grabbed her hand and whispered to her, "relax, your getting pissed" and she whispered back, "They aren't talking nice things about me and I don't want to cause an international incident" then she heard, "aww the nice blond man must be fucking her good but I'm sure his dick is smaller than mine" Anna shook her head and said to Graves as she got closer to him, "I'm getting uncomfortable" he said to her, "I got you" she nodded, "Permission to punch one of them?" she asked, "I will call Shepard after that" she smirked.

She got up from her seat and went up to the guys then said in Russian with a smile to them, "hello morons, you think I didn't understand a word you all said? well I'm Russian too well, Russian American to be exact" then she punched the guy who made the remark of her and Graves fucking which threw the man back on the floor with his chair and before she could do damage on another guy with her fist, a man came up behind her and grabbed her arm. 

She looked up and saw an extremely muscular guy with kind yet tired blue eyes. All he said to her was, "I'm sorry for their behavior and I will make sure they get the right kind of discipline" and she took her hand back from him and looked behind him, "Graves call off your men" she said and he said, "no can do Anomaly" and she noticed he called her with her callsign which was out of her protection sake he did it so, "Do it Graves, I will handle it" she replied and he looked at his men who lowered their weapons and sat back down to eat.

She looked at the three Russian soldiers who were looking at the big muscular man with fear, "apologize to the young lady" he said and all three apologized to her in various ways and the man looked at her, "I'm impressed on how you handle yourself, Miss Anomaly" and she smirked as he said her name in English, "thank you, pleasure meeting you sir" and he replied, "Pleasure is all mine" and Anna walked back to Graves who saw her swollen right fist, he already had some ice in a bucket for her, "next time let me throw the punch for you, sweetheart" he said as he held her hand down in the ice bucket. She smiled as she said, "I can't always let you boys have all the fun" he nodded, "quite true" and she looked at him as the Russian men left the place but the big muscular man looked at her one last time, waved her goodbye then left.

"Damn he reminded me of Ghost" said Graves and Anna looked at him, "The SAS guy?" she said and he nodded, she nodded in agreement, "yea". Anna had never met Ghost but she's read his files and what he can do. She's even seen a picture of him in a glance when she met Laswell and Shepard a few times when they came in office for meetings with Graves.

"Now that they are gone, mind telling me why the Russians are on this side of the fence?" and he explained to her how the Shadow Company has a separate mission to kidnap some Ukrainian scientists and the Russians are helping them, "Shepard asked me and I agreed" Anna sighed, "let me guess that's where my language expertise comes in?" Graves nodded, "Gotcha so I can talk to the Russians?" he nodded, "Okay, never keep me in the dark again" he saluted her, "yes ma'am" which made her giggle.

Graves waved the field medic who was eating near them and he agreed to meet Anna in their room, "your lucky you only broke your skin and didn't do much damage" said the field medic to her and she smiled, "Thanks Leo" she replied and he nodded, "yea, yea, now don't go punching any more Russians" he said and she frowned then replied, "I told Graves and I'm telling you, I ain't allowing you guys to have all the fun" and he put his hands up to surrender, "okay, I'm not gonna argue with you" which made her giggle, "Keep it clean and change the bandage whenever you need to change it" he said and handed her a bag of bandages for her knuckle, "Will do" she replied. 

He eventually left and Graves came out of his room shirtless, "all good, sweetheart?" and she nodded, then relaxed on the couch, "night mission?" she asked him as she grabbed the book from earlier and he came up to her, then sat near her feet. 

"Yea" and he began to massage her feet, "If your thinking I'm gonna fuck you then think again, you need to rest before tonight" he looked at her rejected, "I know Anna, I'm just being nice to massage your feet" she pulled her feet away from him, "I'm good, now go rest" she said and narrowed her eyes at him, "okay" he replied and left her on the couch as she read the book.

Eventually Anna went to her bedroom and rested as she felt tired from reading the book. Pretty soon, they woke up for lunch and had lunch with their Shadow Company. She didn't see any of the Russian army guys during lunch and wondered if that man would ever return but she knew how some military men were, they kept to themselves most of the time. She just shrugged it off then once lunch was done, they headed back to their rooms and everyone suited up. 

Anna did as well, she was going to stay in base camp near the mission site where Graves and his men were going to infiltrate with some of the medics as she will be navigating Graves from the plane. She's been on some of the missions on ground where they needed her but she made sure she kept her bullet proof vest on at all times till they left the mission site as Graves always told her, "you can get shot anytime when you are in enemy territory"

She always kept that in mind, once they were all out of the hotel they piled into the trucks and were transported to the location where they had to start from. Anna grabbed hers' and Graves' things and set up camp with the base camp medic team. Graves took his men to a separate location and briefed them. Anna just sat around, ate some energy bars as her dinner and read the book she brought with her.
