Chapter 9

      Walten sat at a table with Ron eating breakfast, Ron bought it for him so he felt bad for not having the money to pay him back. "So let me get this straight... he practically tells you that you're fired and then rehires you for basically the same job but with a possibility of risking your life and doesn't pay you for the years you've worked for him?" Ron asked. Walten looked at him with a blank stare "Um. I guess?" he shrugged. Ron growled "I swear he's just doing this to you on purpose." he said crossing his arms. Walten looked down at his food "I don't know. Maybe I just pissed him off after interrupting his conversation with Finn." he said. Ron looked at him "I don't think you understand... but if that's what you think then sure.". Walten smiled, "I should probably look for other jobs on the side," he said "don't they have a market nearby?". Ron nodded "I don't think there will be many job offerings since all of the events that recently happened have affected the base. Since they have housing available, people began moving in because they know that they'll be safe in the hands of the military.". Walten looked at him puzzled, "Basically to simplify it, most job offerings are probably taken." he said, noticing Walten's confusion. Walten nodded and looked at the time, "It's noon, I think I should go do that stuff he told me.". Ron nodded, "I'll be at the gym, if something happens, come get me." he said as he got up from his chair. Walten smiled, "Okay, see you later.".

      Walten was given a bucket of meat, the smell of it made him want to vomit. He really wasn't sure if he wanted to do this, not because of the meat, but because he'd have to face the four once again. He gripped onto the bucket. Opening the door, he was immediately caught off guard by Tinky being completely covered by chains. Walten walked in and looked at the four. Tinky was facing a corner, looking uncomfortable. Dipsy. What the fuck. He was chewing on the bars of the cage. Po had fallen asleep against her cage while Laa Laa attempted to braid her hair. Walten didn't want to bother any of them especially since they could kill him any second now. But he couldn't help but feel bad. It's their first time being outside of the mainland and Tinky is literally in fucking chains. Walten sighed walking over to Tinky. "Hey um Tinky." he whispered. Tinky's ears perked up, the giant tubby slowly turned around to face him. "Jesus christ." Walten blurted. Tinky growled and backed away. "Sorry I-I just didn't think they'd do this to you." he said. Tinky just sat there staring at him. "Here, let me help." he said as he put the bucket down. Walten slipped his hands through the bars, the only pro that Walten could find from being small. He reached for the cage wrapped around his muzzle but Tinky growled and whined as he got closer. Walten stopped, "Sorry.". Walten grabbed the bucket and saw that the meat was missing. Confused, he looked at Dipsy. Dipsy had stuffed some of it down his shirt with the rest sticking out of his mouth. Tinky and Walten just looked at him disgusted. "Let's just go outside." Walten said as he opened Tinky's cage. Laa Laa's ears perked up, she got up and shook the cage bars. Walten looked at her and opened the cage, Po woke up and looked at them tired. She rolled over and got up on her feet, Walten opened hers too and then Dipsy's. He opened the door to the courtyard. It wasn't much, it really was just a space with neatly cut grass with flowers along the sidewalk. The only source of entertainment was a basketball court. Po grabbed Laa Laa by the hand and dragged her outside. Dipsy followed shortly after. Walten smiled and looked over to Tinky who was still sitting in the corner. "Come on Tink. You need to go outside." He said. Tinky shook his head. Walten walked over and took him by the hand. Tinky freaked out. Walten loosened his grip. "Come on. I can't leave you here." He said. Tinky whimpered and slowly got up, now towering over him. Walten didn't want to show signs of fear, even though he couldn't get the thought of Tinky trying to kill him the first time they stood side by side. "Let me take some of this off of you." He said as he slowly took off some of the chains. Tinky made a small growl and then began walking outside. Walten squeaked and quickly ran after him. Tinky looked around, he was quick to notice guards standing on the rooftop with rifles, watching them. Tinky whimpered. Walten looked at him, he could tell Tinky was distressed. Walten tapped Tinky's paw. Tinky jumped a little and looked down at him, Walten gestured to the flowers, knowing Tinky would calm down once he saw them, which Walten was right. Tinky walked over to the flowers and then sat down. Walten smiled, he looked over to the other three. Dipsy was already trying to figure out the basketball court, while Po and Laa Laa were relaxing under a tree. He could tell they were starting to feel like it was their home again. Walten looked at Tinky. He sat there. Staring at the flowers. Walten watched him before sitting semi close to him. He kept his distance, knowing that Tinky could snap any second now. The two sat in silence for a few minutes. Walten was lost in thought. Trying to understand how the four aren't acting so feral like they were beforehand and what Noo Noo meant. Tinky was staring at him, he had been for those few minutes. Tinky started shaking as he decided to try talking to him, but he ended up making a weird growl sound. Walten looked at him. "Something up?" he asked, Tinky was noticeably trembling. Walten got up "We should probably head back inside. It's 12:30 right now." he said. Tinky panicked and shook his head. "I'm sorry but I have too." Walten replied, "let me go get the others inside first then." he said before walking away. He watched as the small tubby struggled to get the others inside. Tinky just stared with a blank expression. Walten walked up to him "Now, let's go inside.". Tinky whimpered and got up. The two walked inside. Po looked at him, dead in the eyes. She snarled at him. Tinky didn't like being there, he was reminded of what he had done to them. Walten could tell. Tinky got inside his cage, he glanced over to Po. Po still giving him the stink eye. "I'll probably come back later," Walten said "I'll see you four later." he waved goodbye and walked out the door. Tinky looked at the chains Walten had taken off of him. He started to wish that Walten didn't leave. "Hey, asshole." Dipsy said, Tinky looked at him, Dipsy shoved a piece of meat with clumps of his green hair still left on it into his face. Tinky growled and pushed it away in disgust.
