"What the hell do you mean someone scrapped my ship?!"
I am currently ranting to the owner of the shipyard where I parked my ship, who is currently saying someone scrapped my ship without me knowing."Sorry sir, but someone who knew the exact docking code to your ship requested me to send it to the scraping yards. I don't question the customer, I just want to get paid."
"That doesn't fucking explain why you didn't have any questions or problems with someone else using the code for my ship, when I wasn't the one who used it!... look do you recognise who used the code?"
The shipmaster shook his head and turned back to his terminal behind him, closing a shutter into my face. I turned around and heard a voice from my left.
"I did."
I whipped around at the speed of a bullet expecting a fight, but instead saw the friendly face of Globak's old assistant.
"Y'vette! What are you doing here you sly old snake!"
"Says the Rip-off Robocop!" She said before laughing and high-fiving me.
"Never thought I'd see you and Globak in the same hour after seven years! What's all this about scrapping my ship, huh?" I said, realising I was still quite annoyed.
"You still pissed off about hearing that, huh? Yeah, Globak said you seemed to have been wound tighter than a screw. Anyways, the reason I had your ship scrapped is because Globak told me he forgot to send you his final gift. Oh, and hear it comes now!"
She pointed behind me and I saw a large ship pull into the upper level hangar, then spinning around again and calling her bluff.
"No way he got that for me."
"Yes way"
"No way"
"Yeah, dude"
"That's. Absolutely. Fucking. AWESOME!!!"
"I know right? Here's the product on the workshop, specifically modified Heavy Military Fighter Craft freshly purchased for a steal from those idiots over on 'SpAcE fOrCe'. The pilots were drunk and we bought it off of the drunk fuckers for over 70 times less than the market price."
Rick: Man they must've been pissed when the hangover was gone."
Y'Vette: Nah, we were halfway round the system by the time the Glug wore off."
Rick: Those guys drank Glug?! Jeez, they must've been hurting for weeks, that shit practically liquifies your digestion systems."
Y'Vette: So, you wanna hear about the ship?"
"No, Globak talked my ear off for seven minutes going on about a single weapon. I've had enough of explaining for today."
Y'vette: Good, cause I'm to impatient to even try explaining this over complicated hunk of tungsten."
"Great, I'll just take the keys then."
Y'Vette: No need, Globak had it modified with a customised DNA security system, it only unlocks when you give verbal commands to do so."
"..Of course he did."
Time-skip
I walk up to the ship, expecting a voice or something to ask for my name, but a simple pop-up appeared on my screen saying; "Do you wish to unlock the cargo door of the ship, Pilot?"
I simply answered with a short 'yes' and the ship sprang to life.
It blared with sirens and air blasted out of the gaps in the door, before the door popped out of the sealed frame and leaned downwards, making a simple ramp to lead up into the cargo bay.
I walked up, amazed at how sleek yet functional the inside was, and so spacious! The cargo bay was so expansive, capable of carrying over 70 cubic meters of cargo with no problems.
However, I wasn't interested by the cargo, I was more interested in how she flew, as if I wanted to make it on time, I was gonna have to find the cockpit. A few minutes later and I had found the habitation room.
It has an ergonomic, and elegant design, complete with a sectional inflatable mattress, made of steel-silk, with a bathroom and bench overlooking the outside of the ship. It's bathroom had a toilet with an insulated seat, rainfall shower with bathtub, and sink.
I would have to move my stuff inside later, as a little bit after exploring the Bedroom, I found the cockpit.
I sat down, gripped the controls tightly and was about to take off, when I suddenly heard a deep robotic voice; "Welcome aboard, Pilot, all systems online. Do you wish to leave the docking station?"
"Yes, who is the voice I am speaking to?"
Osiris: "I am the O.S.I.R.I.S Program, the Onboard Systematic Intelligence and Research Integration System. I was custom-built for helping the registered pilot of this vessel, which in this case is you; Nicholas Davidson, to utilise said vessel."
"Oh, so you are the ship's onboard AI?"
Osiris: "Yes, I was designed to help you; the pilot, with navigation, combat, and if you were so inclined as to connect me to your suit, numerous other things as well."
"Good, now, I will connect my suit into the storage to charge its internal system batteries, while that's happening I want you to connect to the suit as well. Second, I want you to set a course for Copper 9, I trust you can handle navigation while I get settled into my quarters?"
Osiris: "Yes sir, setting course for planet Copper 9."
"Oh, and one more thing, play the song called; 'Sunroof' by Nicky Youre."
Osiris: "Of course sir, according to current projections, we shall make it to Copper 9 within 10 hours, if we don't come in contact with any unwanted interference."
"Well, let's head off, and close the cargo door please? I really don't want to get sucked out of my ship within the same day I got it."
