There never was a day when Yeona didn't find a granola bar in her backpack with a cute note attached to it. Every day when she got home, she quietly shuffled to her room and opened the front pocket where she found them. After quietly ripping open the packet so her usually drunk father wouldn't hear, she devoured it in less than 5 seconds, feeling grateful for whoever had given it to her.

But who was she kidding? She knew exactly who gave them to her. Lee Felix. The sunshine-like boy who wouldn't stop following her. Sure, it annoyed the fuck out of Yeona, but it also made her feel like someone cared. And although it might have been insane, she kept every one of his notes.

i hope you like this heh i bought a new kind this time!

your hair looks really good today

i heard you listening to twice. you like them too don't you?

you're really cool

the other girls were being mean again, so i told them to fuck off. i think it worked :D

And every once in a while, Yeona would read the notes and it would instantly brighten her day. Not a 'black to white' brighten, but more like a 'dark gray to slightly lighter dark gray' brighten.

And Yeona was so grateful.

Not that she ever told him.

But nonetheless, every day, Felix came to school with an extra granola bar and a huge grin on his face that someone matched his bright aura. And although there were always girls and boys fluttering around him, wanting to be his friend, he always made his way back to Yeona, even though he still didn't know her name.

There was simply something about her that drew him closer to her. Maybe it was the way she didn't appear to care even though she really did. Felix knew that she wanted to be his friend, too; she was just too scared to admit it. He knew that she turned down the volume of her music when he talked to her and that she always kept the little notes he wrote for her.

And just thinking about her made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

He loved the way her lips would curl up ever-so-slightly when he said something funny before straightening again as she pretended she never heard him. He loved the way she'd unconsciously doodle on the back of her hand and the way she always seemed to scoot her chair just a little bit closer to him.

He knew that he was probably holding onto a relationship that was hopeless, but he didn't care.

He knew he had a friend, and for now, that was all that mattered.
