a year later

"Hey, Yeona!" Felix exclaimed as he ran to catch up with her after school. "How was your day?" He asked after finally catching up to her. 

Yeona gave him a shy smile and offered him one of her earbuds. Felix happily put it on, excited when he heard Naeyeon's familiar voice in Pop!. "We had almost all our classes together today, Lixxie," she reminded him, and Felix walked slightly closer to the smaller girl. 

"Yeah, but you had art when I took dance. How was art?" 

Yeona found her lips curling up into a grin when she realized that Felix had her schedule memorized. "Art was fun," she admitted. "My teacher said that I'm really good at drawing chicks, apparently." 

Felix gave her an aegyo and she laughed. "Well, maybe it's because you hang out with me!" 

The girl laughed again and intertwined her fingers with Felix's. "Okay, you big baby," she giggled, inching just a little bit closer. 

"But actually, though," Felix started again. "How are you feeling? It's been almost a year, you know." 

Yeona nodded as she recalled everything that had happened in the past year. Her father had been sent to prison for abuse and she moved in with the Lees. She got a therapist who helped her work out her feelings, and surely, but slowly, she found herself making her way out of her hole of depression. 

Things with Felix were going perfectly, too. The two started dating a few months after Yeona got a therapist because she said that she wouldn't date Felix with an unhealthy mind. When the two did start dating, both of them were the happiest people alive and seemed to float on Cloud 9 all the time. 

"I'm better, Lixxe," Yeona responded. "I'm so much better, and I love you so much." 

Felix blinked before a huge smile grew on his face. "That was random, but I love you so much, too." 

And it was true. He loved her with everything in him, and he knew that she loved him too. 

And Yeona was grateful that Felix was always there for her. 

Even when she was trapped in the dark.
