Coffee for Two

I'm making coffee for two
Nowadays.

Today, we tried
Rocket Java

Tomorrow, we'll try
The blueberry coffee

I prepare the coffee
She brews it in the morning.

We take care of each other,
And we both make sure
The other has their daily caffeine

Making coffee for two
Isn't what I thought
It would look like

I imagined
A pot of Folgers
And a husband
On a sunlit morning

Yet,
Blueberry coffee
For my roommate
At 12am,
Is in its own way,
Just a beautiful,

I always wanted
To live with my best friend.
How cool is it,
That I've been able to live
With all four?

Not what I pictured,
But I'm glad it worked out
This way.

Here's to making coffee for two.
