    The Mountians Past Birkenau

    You can see the mountains from Birkenau.
    How odd is that?
    That if you look up, 
    And look out,
    You can see the mountains
    From the barracks of death.
    If you're standing outside 
    Of the barrack that housed women
    Awaiting the gas chambers,
    You can see the mountains. 
    There seems to be
    Something fundamentally wrong 
    With looking past the atrocity
    To see the beauty.
    How can it be,
    That you can see the mountains from Birkenau?
