Prompt: I want to go home

Character: Elijah Mikaelson

Elijah sat next to the window in his brothers safe house.

He glanced over at his wife and smiled.

She was playing with the human child they found abandoned.

The little one was only 2 years old.

They never found his parents and they looked everywhere.

So they decided to raise him as their own.

"Papa!"

Elijah smiled as the boy ran to him with open arms.

He picked the boy up and turned to his wife.

She smiled a sad smile.

"Mama, what wrong?" the little boy asked her.

"Nothing for you to worry about my little one."

"Papa make Mama happy!"

Elijah nodded and set him down.

The boy ran to his room and Elijah looked at her.

"Darling?"

"Yes my love?"

"Will you tell me?"

She sighed. "I will but know that I'm not ungrateful for what Niklaus has done for us."

"I know my heart."

"I want to go home."

"Darling..."

"I don't mean New Orleans Elijah."

"Oh."

"I've had lots of time to think thanks to your father." She touched the mark on her arm. "I just miss it is all."

"Maybe after we deal with Michael we might be able to go back to visit."

She looked at him.

"You mean it?"

"Of course. I take our vows of love seriously. I promised you always and forever."

She smiled her true genuine smile and ran into his open arms.

"We will wait till little one is old enough to travel but we can start making plans."

"Oh thank you so much my love."

She kissed him.

"Anythign for you my heart."

The little boy ran out to them crying.

"Mama! Papa!"

She ran over to him and pulled him to her.

"What's wrong my little one?"

"There was a scary man in my room!"

She turned to Elijah.

"Little one tell us what he looked like."

"He looked like Uncle Nik but meaner."

Elijah growled.

"I'll take him to the special room. Call Niklaus."

Elijah had his phone out and dialed as they walked away.

'Hello Elijah.'

"Michael found us."

'What?!'

"He went after my son Niklaus."

'I'm outside now.'

Elijah ended the call and opened the door.

"Show me brother."

"If I find him, he's dead."
