Prompt: You know, it's a really long story

Character: Machine Gun Kelly (Colson Baker)

Y/n groaned as her phone rang again. She picked it up and saw who was calling.

Almost 13 years of not talking to him and she caved. She missed hearing his voice and seeing him smile.

She answered her phone.

"Hello Kells."

'Damn, you actually answered this time.'

"I've been busy. What's up?"

'I have a concert near you and wanted to invite you to come to it.'

"Sure. But I won't be able to stay long."

'Rook told me you have a kid.'

"Yeah."

'How old?'

"Almost 13."

'Cool bring your kid with, you can both sit backstage.'

"Okay."

'See you later babe!'

~

Y/n walked up to the door with her son and saw them.

"Mom is that Machine Gun Kelly?!"

She nodded.

Colson looked up and saw her.

"Hey short stack!"

"Hey Kells."

~

Rook smiled as they walked into the room. He knew who the boy'

s dad was and saw how much they looked alike.

"Hey there stranger." He said waving to Y/n and the boy.

"Hey Rook." Y/n said smiling.

"Uncle Rook!" The boy yelled running over and hugging him.

"Hey kiddo. You been good for your mom?"

The boy nodded.

Colson looked at Rook and the boy.

"So when were you going to tell me you had a kid?"

Y/n sighed.

"Come on Y/n. It's not like I didn't want you around."

"Kells can we not talk about this in front of him please."

Colson huffed and turned around.

"This is why I didn't want you all knowing." Y/n said softly.

Colson turned back to face her. "What the hell do you mean?"

"Did you ever wonder why I stopped talking to you 13 years ago?"

"I thought you hated me."

"I could never hate you Kells."

"Then why did you leave?"

Rook noticed the tension and walked out of the room with the boy.

"We are going to go check on the instruments while you two talk."

"That's fine Rook. He loves drums."

Rook gave Y/n a thumbs up.

Y/n sighed and sat down.

Colson walked over and sat next to her.

"You gonna tell me why?"

"What do you want to know."

"Come on Y/n. You know I'm not stupid. Your son looks a lot like I did when I was his age."

"So?"

"Damn woman. I forgot how stubborn you can be."

Y/n laughed.

"So, why did you leave?"

"You know, it's a long story."

"I don't care."

"I left because I needed to let you go."

"What do you mean? We were best friends. Why would you have needed to let me go?"

"I was in love with you."

Colson smiled.

"I had to leave and let you go." Y/n pulled out a cigarette and lit it. "I saw how happy you were and how hard you were working. I couldn't mess that up."

"You think I don't remember that night we had."

She looked at him.

"I know it's been 13 years and that you left when you found out you were pregnant. You left the test in the trash and I found it."

"Well shit. Here I thought you would be pissed."

"Why? I would have helped you and the kid."

"His name is Cole."

Colson smiled.

"And he knows who you are to him. I couldn't let him go without knowing you."
