The day of the meeting finally comes and Shiu and I are sitting in wait at a bar. I sip my gin and tonic whilst he swirls his whisky around mindlessly in his glass.

"Are they ever going to show?" I say as I rest my chin on my fist and lean forward onto the bar.

"They will." He reassures and I raise an eyebrow.

"If you say so." I reply and I watch him scan the room before his gaze settles on something behind me. I see him nod his head once, and I swivel on my stool to see what he's looking at. There's a man at the back of the bar guarding a door and Shiu rises from his seat after their interaction. I do the same, and he guides me towards the back of the bar by placing his hand on the small of my back.

The man opens the door for us and we enter the back room. I try to avert my gaze as we pass multiple poker tables, laden with both chips and bags of white powder whilst powerful (both physically and regarding status) men sit around smoking cigars. As I follow Shiu through, someone sitting at one of the tables grabs my wrist, causing me to whip around.

I look down to see a man, probably in his late 30s, smirking up at me with a suggestive smile. I wrench my hand out of his grasp and give him a disgusted look before turning back around and continuing to follow Shiu. I hear the men at the table laugh from behind us and I shake my head, they act as if they've never seen a woman before.

Shiu and I eventually reach another secluded room which we enter, and my eyes adjust to the new dark environment. There's a table positioned in the middle with two men sitting on the side opposite to us. The small, low hanging light in the centre makes me wonder if this is just supposed to be a storage room rather than a covert meeting room.

The men opposite us are a complete contrast to one another. The one on the left is tall, bald and muscular, so much so that I believe him to be a bodyguard. The man on the left is shorter, and more slim, but still looks like he trains. He's got jet black hair and distinctive lines shaved into the side of his head. My eyes begin to scan the rest of the room, the bare walls and exposed concrete floor gives the space a... brutalist feel. It's a large contrast to the chandeliers and navy blue curtains of the poker room we passed through earlier.

"F/n L/n." The smaller man says, turning my attention away from criticising the decor.

"Yes..." I say, not really sure whether he wanted me to reply or not.

"We need to know whether or not you're qualified for the job." He says simply and I furrow my brow. I glance towards Shiu next to me, and he gives me a prompting look with a nod of his head, hinting to the fact he wants me to play into their antics. I turn back to the men in front of us and purse my lips into a line.

"We?" I say and the man raises an eyebrow at me.

"You do know who you're working for?" He says impatiently and I give him a slow nod.

"The Geto clan." I state. "Not you."

"What are you trying to say?" The man replies and a knowing smile spreads across my face.

"You're not a part of them." I point out as I fold my arms across my chest.

"What makes you think that?" The man replies, leaning forward as an attempt to assert some kind of confidence. I mirror him by leaning forwards also, so we're now positioned in a mock stand off from across the table.

In response I don't even have to talk, I look down to his exposed forearms suggestively. Members of the Geto clan (or at least ones with any notable level of status) are littered with tattoos, especially their arms. It's possible that this man is a member, just an extremely low ranking one. I'm willing to take the gamble that he just does their admin work for an above average salary though.
