"I'm liking the Bambi look Y/n." Satoru says me from the front seat of the car as Suguru drives.

"Shut up." I retort simply, my gaze turning to look out of the SUV window. Considering Suguru's estate is in Kawagoe, I'm guessing the party will be in Tokyo. My gaze flicks briefly to the rear view mirror where I can see the top half of Suguru's face being lit up sporadically by every passing streetlight. His gaze suddenly meets mine in the mirror and I hold it for a second before looking back away.

"Should I be armed?" I ask simply and Satoru lets out a guffaw in response.

"You're so uptight." He comments. "No, you shouldn't. This is my territory, there's no need for that."

This sounds like a recipe for disaster then. I let out a sigh as I rest my head against the car window to gain some peace.

"Aren't you excited?" Suguru asks and I feel his gaze on me in the rear view mirror. "You haven't been back to Tokyo in a while."

He's right. I haven't been back to Tokyo in a while. I've been pent up in Suguru's estate, by my own volition of course, or at least that's what I'm telling myself. Despite Suguru having given me the choice to leave a few weeks back after I came home hurt from the job with Satoru, I can't imagine what his reaction would be if I told him I wanted to break off the deal now.

I know this is exactly what he wants too. He wants me to reside to my peaceful life with the two of them, to not ask any questions, to accept my fate. But why? That's one thing I'm still struggling with.

"I'm excited." I confirm and Suguru lets out a low, unconvinced hum in response. "Who else is going?"

"Just a few friends." Satoru chimes in as if this means anything to me. I can already sense that I'm going to be the odd one out at this event.

As the car journey finishes and we reach central Tokyo, we arrive in one of the lower districts which is lit up by warm lights streaming out of each doorway. We pass small restaurants, bars, and clubs. Whilst stepping out of the car, I take in my surroundings briefly before following Suguru and Satoru down the street. I walk behind the both of them, watching as we traipse through Tokyo's vibrant nightlife.

To be honest, considering this is a party hosted by the Gojo clan, I expected it to be in a more lavish location. We approach a normal, unassuming looking door with two men standing either side. Suguru looks around himself unimpressed as Satoru has a quick conversation with what seems to be a kind of bouncer, before the man gives him a quick bow and lets us in.

Suguru glances behind him to check that I'm still following as we make our way through a dimly lit corridor, the metal door slamming shut behind us as we do so. A few, ineffective, industrial looking lights are strung up along the walls, but they don't help to lessen the threatening ambience. I look behind myself to where we had just came from to see the shut door.

"You're not thinking of backing out now, are you?" Satoru says, a mocking smirk audible in his tone. I let out a scoff at his remark.

"What gave it away?"

"Probably the way you're nervously looking at the door." He adds whilst looking back at me over his shoulder. I roll my eyes in response as we continue our passage through the corridor, only to be met with a pair of double doors at the end.

We push our way through and Suguru holds the door open for me, letting me pass him as he does so. I mutter a thanks as I'm met with the sight of a large staircase, with at least 15 flights.

"You're trying to kill me, aren't you?" I ask Suguru whilst gesturing between my high heels and the staircase. He lets out a shrug in response before overtaking me and begging the ascent.
