POV Ayanokoji

"You let me down, Kiyotaka."

He said, although his expression is serious, I can hear a playful tone in his voice.

Sigh. "That won't work for me, Shinichi."

"Okay, I know that. But you're kind of right." Crossing his arms, he continues. "I actually had a hand in this 'trap', but there's a difference between participating and cooperating, the only thing I did was know and understand Ryuen's plan with a simple word."

A single word?

"And what would that be?"

"I'll leave that to your imagination, but he said this: 'We have a bear trap, and in that 'trap' someone will be hooked. Maybe a bear or totally unaware and ignorant prey."

So the riddle is about prey and predator falling into a trap? I understand...

"If you were just participating, then how did the table get switched?" I asked curious.

"I'm sorry Kiyotaka, but I can't end up interfering with your fun. But I can say that Ryuen is very different compared to how he was before." He warns me.

"Different? Does that mean you had some involvement with your 'improvement'?"

"Probably." He shrugs as if it's something common for him. "He has great potential, just like you have Horikita to help you expand your potential, I have Ryuen to refine your potential."

I understand, the difference between 'expanding your potential' and 'refining your potential' is based on the concept and characteristics of both individuals. Horikita has great potential but she drastically ignores her 'true potential', so I'm like an extra hand that will help her expand her potential. As for Ryuen, he's already at his peak, though. Shinichi said that he is refining his potential, that means Ryuen will be stronger than he was before.

"If I had to give my opinion, someone has already fallen into his 'trap'." He said before turning around.

What?

He stops halfway there before glancing sideways at me, glancing over his shoulder.

"From your point of view Kiyotaka. Who do you think is the prey and the predator?"

The 'prey' would be Sudo Ken, but for some reason, that makes me believe he won't be the main focus. Now the 'predator' would be someone with capabilities to overcome another predator or even become prey for 'this predator', I would say that Horikita, Kikyo, Hirata, Kei and I would fit in this context.

After all, between predator and prey, everything becomes a matter of patience.

For ordinary people she would choose to be a predator, because it would give her advantages, though. Even prey becomes more dangerous when it remains silent and just watches its 'predator'.

It's like they say: 'Become the predator, before they choose you to be the prey. But if the prey makes the first move, you will be the hunted.'

"If I had to say... The predator would be 'me', and the prey would be [...]" I gave my point.

Satisfied he just smiled and turned around, continuing on his way without even saying anything.

The next event will be the "Capture the Flags", that means he is getting ready to start his plan. Although he plans for our class to lose, he doesn't plan for us to gain points or lose, if he does I'll be free anyway from Horikita's deal.
