One more trip

Colin, despite the advice of the doctor and his family, prepared to leave in a week's time. His business was suffering from his absence, Anthony, while convalescing, had taken care of it but lacked Colin's training and flair. He was proud of his brother but he saw that Colin had no more stimuli. He was determined to leave, once again to escape from what he didn't like, and because he had responsibilities to his workers.
"

Are you sure you want to go alone?" Anthony said
"Would you like to accompany me with Kate in labor? Come on brother don't be silly, I've already done a lot of damage to my family, I can't take you away from Kate right now" Colin said closing his suitcase.
"Colin you've built a thriving business out of nothing..you have a great job we're proud of you but I wonder if you don't want to leave because of Penelope again.
"It's not her fault, it's mine, I ruined her life, I even let her suitor escape and she doesn't want me. I better go about my business, get away from here… get away from her"
"Mom is worried about you and frankly so am I."
"Don't worry, I've regained almost all my memories sadly
..I'm in good shape..You don't have to worry about me. I only ask you one thing brother. Will you continue to take care of Penelope? Please you will!"
"Of course! I'll keep you informed about her."
"No .... And her life. I can no longer be a part of it, not even indirectly, after what I did to him."
"As you wish"

Colin was getting into the carriage that was to take him to the port and he turned towards Penelope's house. He did it every time he left for her, in the hope of seeing her appear before leaving London, so as to have as a last thought to take away with him, a memory of her. But even then, he didn't see her.

Eloise watched from the window of Penelope's room as Colin left.
"She is looking towards your house Penelope, she always does when she leaves."
Penelope was sitting in the doorway trying not to show interest even though she knew she would never be able to fool Eloise.
"Are you sure he's leaving so soon after what happened to him?" Penelope said worried.
"If you were really worried about him, you shouldn't have let him go," Eloise said.
She was mad at her brother for what he did to Penelope and she was mad at Penelope for not giving her brother a chance also she was mad at Anthony for letting Colin leave...she was mad at a lot of people and she didn't liked.
"If he wanted, he could stay." said Penelope "no one forced him to leave"
"Is he supposed to stay here begging your forgiveness every day Penelope? Would that change your mind about him?"
"Eloise! You don't understand!"
"I understand that you love each other and that, yes, he hurt you, but what's the point of resentment!"
"I told him to leave me alone and he just walked away....again..if he'd stayed I might have figured out that he was really interested in trying to make up for his mistakes, don't you think?" said Penelope with very sad eyes.
"Ohh damn you and the fact that you can't talk straight to each other! But why didn't you tell him?"
"He had to figure it out himself"
Eloise was already leaving to try and stop Colin but Penelope stopped her.
Eloise however had another way of letting Colin know what she had discovered....she had gotten very good at writing letters...
