SUNGHOON POV
A date. I have a date ! I couldn't believe it. I can't believe it. I don't even know his name, but just the thought brings a smile to my face.
His cute giggle seemed to be all that my mind remembers as I got ready. I certainly was excited. I put the sunflowers I got in a vase. Putting that vase by a window. Specifically my bedroom window. I liked how it looked against the sunset.
I met the guy at the ice rink. "I remembered we didn't introduce ourselves earlier. I am Park Sunghoon." He smiled in return as he gave me his name, "수누. 김수누." (Sunoo. Kim Sunoo.) I led the way as we walked
The air was cool & it was beginning to get dark. "What got you into sunflowers, Sunoo ?" I was genuinely intrigued. He was different & it was refreshing. Sunoo smiled as he recalled a memory, "아빠는 내 첫 해바라기를 받았습니다. 그는 해바라기를 줄 때 나를 최대한 위로하고 싶었습니다. 아빠는 내가 이혼이 내 잘못이라고 생각하는 것을 원하지 않았던 것 같습니다." (My dad got my first sunflower. He wanted to comfort me as much as he could when he gave it to me. I think my dad didn't want me thinking the divorce was my fault.)
"Divorce ? Your parents are divorced ? How is that going ?" Sunoo sighed as we walked. "It is going as well as it can, I guess. My parents have remained friends all these years..." I thought back on my parents. Constantly arguing & consistently always made me feel like a prop. "정말 좋겠군요... 부모님이 서로를 이해해주셨으면 좋겠어요." (That must be nice... I wish my parents had that kind of understanding with each other.)
Soon enough we were at dinner. Getting to know Sunoo had been the most exciting thing besides deciding to quit skating. Neither of us could stop talking. Being around him got my heart pumping & I found myself being happier.
Warmth. That was all I felt.
