Clary's POV
Jace, Simon, Izzy and I all run into the infirmary after Alec called Jace about Adley. I am panicking so much I might pass out but Jace has hold of me as we run in. I see my daughter on the table and she is injured all around her body. This is killing me to see her like this.
"By the angel! Adley" I cry out and I hear Jace cry in a whisper, "Adley" as well and we both run up to her and I hold her hand and Jace rubs her cheek.
"She'll be ok but she'll take a while to wake up." Alec tells us "What happened?" Jace asks him
"Adley being Adley, she was trying to protect Magnus and I against Engar but it only ended up hurting her in the process because he... used a lot of his power on her. She's been out for... 2 hours." Alec tells us slowly "2 HOURS!!" Jace and I both yell and Alec looks down.
"Why didn't you get us sooner?" Jace asks him "Because Magnus didn't want you guys seeing how he was working on her at first. He was worried you wouldn't like it but it did help a bit. Now we just have to wait until she wakes up herself." Alec explains and Jace and I look at each other.
"You gotta admit though, she is so brave for putting herself through that for you guys." Izzy steps in and we all smile at her.
"She really is" I agree with Iz and I rub my daughter's head lightly.
"She's so protective of all of us it's incredible. I mean we've always been protective of each other but Adley's different with it. It's hard to explain but she is." Alec mentions
"No I get it, she has all of our protective features in her pretty much so it makes her stronger to protect us but we need to protect her more." I agree with Alec and we smile at each other.
"We'll she isn't like any other teenager that's for sure. I mean Adley actually asks Clary and I to go out to eat with her together. She always wants to spend time with either one of us. I mean what kind of teenager wants to spend so much time with their parents like her." Jace points out and him and I have always loved that part about her. So we never take that feeling for granted. We hear Adley grunt in pain but her eyes aren't opening.
"Magnus what's happening to her?" Jace asks him and I hold her hand tight and rub it. "She's in pain from his magic. Clary grab her stele and use the healing rune. That should relax her enough. Even with magic hitting her it should do the trick just fine." Magnus tells me and I grab Adley's stele from her jacket pocket and pull up her right sleeve on her arm where she put the rune. I run the stele over it and her body relaxes more and she takes a deep breathe in and out. We all relax after that.
"Good, that worked, I wasn't sure especially with pain as she's asleep. Sometimes a rune won't solve everything as we all know." Magnus reminds us "No need to remind us of that Magnus." Jace tells him
"Seriously when will she wake up?" I look at Magnus and Jace wraps his arm around me and Izzy grabs my hand. "With how much pain she's in right now Clary, she just needs to relax her body enough in her sleep and than she should wake up just fine ok. The magic I used on her should relax her enough. She'll be our loving Adley when she wakes up. Don't you worry" Magnus tries to calm me down and it does help a bit. Than Simon comes rushing in.
"Don't worry Iz the kids are with your mom. Is she ok?" Simon informs Izzy as she looks up at him and Simon hugs me tight. "She's just in a lot of pain right now." I tell him as I take a breath. When he stops hugging me he goes beside Izzy and wraps his arm around her as Jace brings his arm back on me.
"Adley's like an angel when she sleeps." Isabelle mentions and I smile wide at that because she is.
"Hmmm, owe, ugh" Adley grunts in pain as she finally wakes up and we all look at her with big eyes as Jace and I hold her hands.
"Hey angel, hey it's ok stay laying down ok." Jace tells her as he helps her back down on the pillow. "Do you remember what happened?" He asks her "Yes, annoyingly enough I do. He really hit me with all his power he could grab. I'll be fine though it just feels tense. Where's my stele?" Adley unsurprisingly reacts because she's so strong and we all lightly laugh at that. "What?"
"You're just so brave Ad's. You were flown around a room hard with powerful magic and you just stay tough." I tell my beautiful daughter and kiss her forehead and she smiles. "And you still have a beautiful bright smile." Jace says to her as he puts his hand on her head and rubs it with his palm.
"Here's your stele" Alec gives Adley her stele and she uses her healing rune. When Adley was training as a Shadowhunter when she was little she quickly learned all the runes faster than any Shadowhunter in the institute. It was incredible to see her learn so fast.
"Better?" I ask her "Yeah, much better, can I stand up now?" She surprises us "Umm, little bug are you sure?" Magnus checks with her "My healing rune is working through me right now. I think I'll be ok." Adley gently assures us and Magnus looks at Jace and I and we nod sure. "Ok, give it a try warrior." He allows and Jace and I take her hands to help her off so she doesn't feel too dizzy.
"Are you ok?" Izzy asks her "Yeah, the rune really helped like I said. I just need to move around." Adley tells us "Ok, if you're sure" I check "I'm sure mom" Adley says to me with bright eyes. "Ok" Jace and I both say and she takes a deep breath and starts walking. She looks fine
"Wow, you really are our strong warrior Ad's. So proud of you" Jace tells her and we all hug her tight.
"Now, how do we kill him?" Adley asks Magnus as we stop the group hug and we look at each other with smirks. That's my brave girl
