Magnus' POV
Alexander was able to find a plan to control Engar and get him away from all of us. He alerts everyone in the holding cells area of the institute and they all come running in one by one and give Engar a dark look.
"So what's the plan?" Jace asks us "Magnus is going to use his magic to get Engar in control and we crowd around him carefully by using our runes to make him weak." Alexander explains to them and I can see Adley looking at me with her worried eyes.
"I'll be fine my little bug. You will be protecting me with everyone." I assure her and hug her and she hugs me back tight. "You better be" She warns me and I chuckle. In my 800+ year life I ever never met anyone like Adley Herondale. Someone so kind and brave but the way she is kind is so interesting and different to most kind people I've met. Clary and Jace raised her well, I'm proud of them for that.
"Alright, let's get this started." I say to everyone and we grab Engar and chain him so he doesn't escape.
"Wow, what a family you have Magnus. They will risk their lives for you." He notices and both Alexander and Adley walk closer to me.
"Of course we will" They both say at the same time and I look at both of them. So does Engar and I get protective of both of them.
"Your husband and niece have interesting hearts." Than he stares down at Adley probably because he thinks she's the weakest out of all of them but she's the opposite. When he stares at her, Clary and Jace pull her back in the middle of them.
"Let's get started with ending your story." I use my magic first for a while and as Engar starts to get weak that's when I give the signal to Alexander to start the runes. One by one they go but I'm getting Adley to go at the same time as I use a new spell. We go together perfectly and he screams in agony and it feels good because we might beat him.
"Stay away from my family." I warn him and I push harder with all my body and he goes away in a spark. As I fall Alexander and Adley catch me quick.
"Did it work?" Isabelle asks and we wait for a bit in case he returns. "I think it did" I say while gaining control. I couldn't have done this without my family.
"Magnus are you ok?" Alexander asks me and I honestly feel ok. "Yeah, I still feel great." I assure him
We did it, as a family. We won
