Mark's POV
Sean had been in the hospital all night, ever since the car crash that happened earlier this evening.
He was hooked up to all these different machines. His skin was pale, and I saw dark circles under his closed eyes.
It killed me to see my baby like this. He looked terrible, and if he was awake right now, he'd be miserable as well.
I would take his place in a heartbeat. Never would I ever have wanted him to be in this situation. But it's not his fault, it's the other guy's fault who wasn't paying attention to the fucking road. It made me very angry that people could be so- so careless!
I stayed by Sean's side this whole time. I arrived at the sight where he had gotten hit as soon as the ambulance called me. I watched them load him into the back of the ambulance, and they let me get in with him. I cried as I held his hand tighter then I ever had before. I kept whispering to him that everything was going to be okay. I didn't know that for sure, I just wanted it to be true.
As soon as we got to the hospital, I was beside him as they rushed him into the ER so they could attend to him. I watched in silence as they got to work on his wounds.
I walked beside his bed he was laying on as they moved him into the room we're in now. I watched dreadfully as they hooked him up to all the machines. Then I sat beside his bed with his hand in mine and waited. I've been waiting ever since.
To get my mind off of the bad things that could happen, I thought of the good times him and I have had together. Playing video games together, going out on walks together, watching movies together, and our first date. All of those were good times.
I looked down at him as I watched his chest move up and down. He wasn't doing that on his own, he couldn't. He was too weak to breathe by himself as of right now. That's what one of the machines were for, to help him breathe. I had become so focused on his breathing that I didn't even notice him open his eyes.
"M-Mark? Where-.." he struggled to get out. I jumped as I looked at his opened eyes in shock. He was awake!
"Sean?! SEAN!" I cried out happily, as I wrapped my arms around him as best as I could so I wouldn't hurt him. I was crying happy tears now. It felt good to see my everything awake again.
"God Sean, you scared me half to death, but who cares. You're awake." I whispered to him in his ear as I pulled out of the hug. He smiled weakly at me and nodded. I understood that it was a little hard for him to speak from his earlier try.
I gripped his hand tighter as the doctor and two nurses walked in. I looked up at them as they came in. The doctor walked over, and did a quick check up on Sean.
"It's great to see you awake, Mr. McLoughlin." he told Sean with a grin.
Sean and I both smiled as he said that, and soon enough, the nurses went to work, getting all the new stats on him since he woke up. When they got done, the doctor went over the information and spoke up."It looks good. You'll be out of here in no time." he announced. This made the both of us so happy, especially me.
He's going to be okay.
I looked down at Sean's smiling face. He was happy, too. I went back in for another hug, and this time, he did his best to wrap his arms around me as well.
"I'm sorry I almost left you." he whispered out slowly.
"It's fine, Sean. All that matters is that my boyfriend is gonna be okay." I laughed a bit, and he laughed too.
"I love you Mark." he said, and I heard the passion laced within his soft voice.
"I love you too, Sean." I said, as I planted a kiss on his cheek.
