Sean's POV

I had gone to this shop almost everyday since I accidentally found it one day when I was coming home from school. I was tired, and I had to use the bathroom really bad and this little shop was the only place I trusted along this scary street I had to walk home on. So I walked in and it became my little hangout ever since.

I knew all the staff members seeing that most of them were in the same grade with me. We all needed money at this age anyways. Eleventh grade is too close to graduation, too close to when we move out and become actual adults.

Savannah was the manager. She was tough and she stood up for herself and the rest of the staff, along with the different customers that had come and gone. Her job was perfect for her.

Flynn was a stocker. Not stalker, he didn't stalk anyone. He just stocked the little amount of shelves that they had with the different little things they sold. He was nice and I liked talking to him.

Delilah was a clerk. She was smart, and I knew her spot was the right one for her because she had passed all of the math classes she took whether it was calculus, geometry, or algebra. You name it, she passed it.

None of these people were good friends of mine but ever since I made this small shop the place I hung out at, we all talked from time to time. Sometimes I would sit with one of them at lunch but I usually sat by myself and contemplated different things. Nobody really cared about my opinion so why try to share it with somebody else?

One day, I came into the shop and sat down at the table for two by the front window like I usually did. I looked over the whole entire store's appearance before I sat my stuff down. I didn't see Savannah anywhere so she probably wasn't here. I turned to my right and saw Flynn stocking a shelf full of these little nicknack things. He turned around and waved to me happily. I waved back and decided to get started on my schoolwork. I got out my laptop and turned it on. Everything seemed just like normal until I looked up from what I was doing. Behind the register was a black-haired boy who looked and seemed the same age as me. I couldn't really see any of his facial features since he was looking down, so all I knew was that he had black hair that was glossy and wavy. I was surprised at seeing a stranger behind the counter other than Delilah or another one of the workers. I gave Delilah a look when she came out from the back. She gave me a reassuring smile and gestured for me to come over. The boy turned and watched her actions, then turned towards me and froze. I watched his eyes widen at me and I stayed where I was for a second. They were brown, and that's all I knew. I let him inspect me up and down, then his eyes quickly looked back down at the register and what appeared to be the money he was counting. I shook off what he had just done and stood up slowly and made my way over to where Delilah was beside him. I noticed him tense up as I came closer, and I thought I saw sweat drip down from his forehead. I didn't know what was up with him but I ignored it. I just wanted to know who he was and what he was doing here. Delilah smiled again and came around the counter to where I was. She gave me a hug and I politely hugged her back.

"Hey, Sean." she said cheerfully. I nodded and smiled at her. Her gaze then wandered over to the boy and she took a deep breath.

"Um, Sean.. This is Mark, our new employee. I'm teaching him how to be a clerk. He's really smart, y'know." she explained. I nodded again and watched him as he finished up counting the money and put it all back in the cash register. He then looked up at us carefully and that's when I was able to see his eyes way better. They were the color of warm, melted milk chocolate and that relaxed me somehow. They were soft too, like he would never give you a dirty look, it seemed. I was so fascinated with his eyes that I didn't even pay attention to anything that Delilah said afterwards. He was able to keep his gaze locked with mine, and it was like his eyes became softer and more delightful every second I looked deeper into them. I suddenly came out of my tranced state when I caught myself on the counter. I then noticed that I had gradually been getting closer to him, closer to his eyes, and I tripped over myself when I bumped into the counter. I awkwardly cleared my throat and recollected myself. His cheeks were burning red, and he was looking downwards now. Delilah just stood there and observed the little scene after she noticed I had stopped paying attention to her. Flynn didn't seem to be paying attention. I looked back over at Mark after awhile of just silence between us and Delilah. He was rubbing the back of his neck. Then, he stuck his hand out.

"Hi," he said in a shaky voice. And that voice of his was deep. Deeper than mine, and I was impressed. I don't think my voice would be able to ever sound as deep as his voice does. It became hard for me to swallow at this moment.

It made me feel weird that I was becoming weaker with everything he did. I wasn't.. gay. I didn't like guys, I knew for a fact that I didn't. But for some reason, he was affecting me more than he should be.

I blinked and looked from his hand and back up to his memorizing eyes. He glanced at me and sighed. He went to pull his hand away but my reaction time was quick, and I grabbed it before he succeeded in actually pulling it away. His beautiful brown eyes widened again and I just ignored it. I smiled and shook his hand. He looked me up and down once again and a faint smile appeared on his lips. I heard a high pitched noise and I looked over. Delilah had her hands covering her mouth and I realized that she was trying to contain herself. I let go of his hand, sadly, and raised an eyebrow at her. She grabbed my hand just as quickly as I had released it from his grip and pulled me into the back room. She hurried an shut the door and came over me with a huge grin plastered on her face.

"EEEEEE! You guys are TOO CUTE!" she squealed at me. I laughed at her reaction and she lightly swatted me on the arm.

"I'm serious, you idiot. Get with him already." she blurted out. I stood there, shocked at what she had said. I wasn't gay.. was I? I couldn't possibly want to get with him.

"Delilah.." I scratched the back of my neck. "I'm not getting together with some guy, let alone some guy that I don't even know. That's.. weird.." I struggled out. She sighed in disappointment and pulled me back over to the door. She opened it just enough so that we could both see Mark and what he was doing.

"You see him?" she pointed at Mark. I nodded slowly.

"You like him, Sean. And he likes you back. I can tell." she said sternly as she looked me straight in the eye. And I couldn't deny anything she had just said.

I'll admit it. Being around him that day was hard, because I figured out later on that I did like him. Now I don't need to take secret glances at him to see if his gorgeous brown orbs are checking me out or not. I already know that he's gazing over at me every time we walk into that little shop together now, hand in hand.
