Mark's POV

I was lounging in my computer chair as I watched the rain trickle down my window. Today was a chilly, rainy day and I loved it. I did love the rain, so why wouldn't I love a day like today? Yes, today was lovely until Sean walked in with tears sliding down his face like the raindrops sliding down my window.

I immediately shot up out my chair and went over to him. I held his face in my hands and wiped away his tears. He sniffled, and finally looked up at me. His beautiful blue eyes were bloodshot and puffy from crying so much, I assumed. I had to know what made him so upset.

"Sean, baby, what happened?" I asked with a concerned tone. He wiped at his eyes and took a deep breath.

"M-My Ma called and- and she told me that my grandma died..." he answered with a shaky voice. Saying that out loud only caused him to bursts out into tears again, and I brought him into a tight hug, holding his head against my chest. He gripped the back of my shirt as his body shook with every sob he let out. I held him closer to me and kissed his head. I hated seeing him like this. I would do the same if my grandma died, though. And I knew Sean would care just as much as I did now.

"Sean... Sean, it's okay. It's okay, baby." I told him softly as his sobs became quieter and quieter. He then inhaled and carefully pulled away from me. He then did something I didn't think he would do. He smiled.

"She was the greatest grandma ever, Mark. She would make me cookies, chocolate chip cookies to be exact. You know how much I love cookies, and her cookies were the best." he said, a look of true happiness shining through his puffy, red eyes. I smiled and nodded. I did know how much he loved cookies. Now, I knew how much he loved his grandma.

"I'm glad that you're still able to remember the good times you had with her. But it's terrible that she's gone. I'm so sorry, Sean." He frowned and nodded. He looked down at the floor and took my hand in his.

"Mark? Can we go make some cookies, please?" he pleaded, and stuck his bottom lip out like a child would. There was no way that I could say no with that kind of look on his face. Plus, he deserved some cookies after hearing the bad news about his grandmother.

"Of course we can, C'mon." I squeezed his hand and grinned widely as I pulled him along. We were going to make this sad, rainy day a better one with Sean's favorite food; cookies.
