Mark's POV

I pulled away from Sean and smiled at him once more. I then got up and went to find the pants I had worn today. I walked in the bathroom and found them laying on the floor so I picked them up and felt around in the pockets. Sure enough, I found my pocketknife, so I pulled it out and walked back out to see Sean, whose eyes grew wide as soon as he saw the knife.

"Don't worry, it's just to draw both of our blood." I reassured him, and he seemed to calm down a bit.

I found a plastic cup on the counter in the cheap coffee making set the hotel had supplied us with and brought everything over to Sean. I sat down and set the cup and the knife down in front of me. I then picked up Sean's shaking hand and eyed his palm.

"I don't want to hurt you, but if we want us to last, there has to be pain involved." I stated truthfully while looking into his frightful, blue eyes. He gulped and nodded slowly, showing that he understood. I nodded back and looked back down at his hand. This was it, and I didn't want to keep him waiting anxiously, so I got to work.

I picked up the pocket knife and held it steadily over his palm. Slowly, I dug it into his soft skin and cringed. I felt horrible, but this had to be done. He winced in pain as I slid it across his skin, but I immediately pulled it away when there was a big enough slit for blood to start trickling out. I quickly put the knife down, grabbed the cup, and held it under his hand. The blood slid down over his palm and into the cup at a slow pace. I swallowed and pulled the cup out from under his hand He was still bleeding though, and I had forgotten to bring anything to clean up the extra blood. I eyed his bleeding hand and couldn't stop my mouth from watering a bit. I don't think I hid it very well, though, because Sean looked at me suspiciously before his gaze softened a little.

"Ah- Y-You can clean it up as long as you d-don't drain me dry." he stuttered although he was trying to be stern. I basically thanked him with the look in my eyes before I gazed down at his bleeding hand hungrily.

My breath was shaky as I leaned down to the bleeding slit. I immediately caught its scent at its strongest point, and God, did it smell delicious. I dragged my tongue across the crimson liquid and closed my eyes, savoring the taste. I got every drop that was left for me to clean up and enjoyed it while it lasted.

I pulled away from him and set his hand down gently. I picked up my knife again and easily slit my palm, allowing my blood to drip into the cup along with Sean's. He watched in horror as our different blood mixed and began to boil. As soon as there was enough of my blood mixed in, I cleaned my palm up and let the two bloods simmer down. I swished them together a bit in the cup and handed it to Sean. He took it and looked at it in both fear and disgust. He didn't want to drink it, and I could tell that easily.

"C'mon, Sean. For us, remember?" I pleaded, my dark eyes showing all the emotion I could ever possess. He glanced up at me before looking back down at the cup. He sighed and brought the cup up to his lips, chugging the whole thing. I was surprised at his actions. It was going to hurt him more now that he drank the whole thing. He began coughing and hacking at the sudden intake, but he soon calmed down. He sat still for a moment until his eyes grew wide and he gave me a look of complete fear.

"It's- Jesus fuck! Oh, for the love of Go-" he tried to get out as he clawed at his neck.

I knew what was happening inside his throat, but I could only watch and hope that it was actually working. He doubled over, but caught himself before he hit the floor. He was still sputtering out nonsense as his throat burned like hell. I knew what it felt like, I had to go through it myself. It's terrible, and it makes it even more terrible to see my beloved Sean having to go through it himself.

I watched in horror as things became worse. He clutched at his chest now, his heart probably feeling like it's going to explode into a million pieces. I instantly saw sweat drip from his forehead and before I could even really process everything going on together, it all stopped. He fell over again, except this time, I caught him. I pulled him closer to me and held his now pale face in my hands.

I tried to wake him up. I was shaking him, opening his eyelids, and calling out his name. He still laid motionless in my arms. I became heartbroken because of my failure. I began to whimper, then my whimpers turned into sobs. I had seriously messed this up, and I would never forgive myself.

I held him close and cried into his shoulder. I did that for a while until sudden movement startled me. I shot up to meet his blue eyes once again. I smiled the biggest smile I could muster in that moment, and brought him into a tight embrace, laughing through my tears. He held me tightly as well, but eventually pulled away. I let him sit up and stared at him nervously.

"S-So... Did it- y'know, work?" I asked, my voice cracking a bit. He smiled and nodded. I was astonished as I noticed his new, dangerously sharp fangs, almost as sharp as mine. I smiled again and laughed as I pulled him back into another hug.

"I'm glad we did this, Mark. I'm so glad." he whispered, his Irish accent still thick and his fangs having no affect on his speech at all, surprisingly. I smiled into his shoulder.

"I'm more glad than you are, that's for sure."

And I was. I wasn't going to be spending eternity by myself anymore. I had the boy of my dreams to experience life as a vampire with me forever, and I couldn't possibly be happier than what I was right then.
