Forever love

chapter 2//

The sound of the train horn breaks us from our hug.
"I love you so so much Polly, I'll try hardest to get back to you but I can't promise anything. Take care of yourself and please don't loose yourself while I'm gone." James mumbled to me with tears in his eyes.
"I keep myself busy James I love you this isn't goodbye." I sniffed.
"Damn right it isn't" he smashed his lips on to mine for the last time.

Tears streamed out my eyes as he wiped them away. He kissed my nose, turned around and got on the train. As the train started moving people started to follow it. I stayed where I was watching it leave. After five minutes I had to get to work. I work as agent Peggy carter assistant. I'm always by her side doing little jobs for her. She's my best friend. I love working. I have many friends there and get on with everyone.

"Agent Labrown, lovely to see you." The receptionist said.
"Lovely to see you to Margret, thank you" I replied back as I checked in.

"Polly, your here" Peggy exclaimed as I entered our office. Peggy demanded we share an office. I love our office chats there always the best.
"Uh yeah I'm working" I said confused.
"I know, I just didn't think you would come in. With Bucky leaving I thought you would be at home crying." She replied.
"Oh no um I'm here." I laughed nervously.
"Yes right we better get a move on we've got soldiers to train."

"Recruits attention! Gentlemen I'm agent carter and is agent labrown. We supervise all operations of this division." Peggy said but I didn't listen to most I was more confused that Steve was there. Yes Steve. He smiled at my reaction.

"What's with the accent, Queen Victoria? Thought I was signing up for the u.s army." A soldier said to Peggy. I rolled my eyes. I can't wait for peg to put him in his place.
"What's your name soldier?" Peggy asked.
"Gilmore hodge, your majesty." He replied.
"Step forward Hodge" he stepped forward with a smirk on his face.
"Put your right foot forward" Peggy told him.
"Mmm we gonna wrassle?" He asked teasingly.
"Cos I got a few moves I know you'll like"
With that Peggy punched him. I giggled as he fell to the floor. I love Peggy.

"Agent carter, labrown" Colonel Phillips said and he nodded at me.
"Colonel Phillips" peg said. I knew she wasn't scared of what he just witnessed he'll be proud if anything.

"I can see that you are breaking candidates. That's good!" He exclaimed.
"Get your ass up out of that dirt and stand in that line of attention till somebody comes tells you what to do." He told the soldier firmly.
"Yes sir" Hodge replied.

I went to checking my clipboard seeing all the soldiers names where they're came from etc and the colonel to them. I couldn't help think of Steve and how on Earth he was here. But then I saw Dr. Abraham Erskine I knew he had something to do with it. I stand with Peggy as she checks the clipboard, I watch Steve. He isn't doing to well. The other soldiers are being horrible to him. I'm sat with Peggy and another soldier in a jeep as we hear the soldiers running behind us. Steve was hyperventilating right at the end of the group. Poor guy.

"That flag means where only at the halfway point. First man to bring to me gets a ride back with agent carter and agent labrown." The training soldier shouted. My gut told me straight away Steve could do it.

All the men ran to the pole jumping, grabbing, climbing at the pole. But Steve stayed back. I turned around with a smile on my face and saw Peggy looking at him.

"Why's he not joining in?" Peggy questioned.
"That's Steve. He's my friend. I already know he knows how to get down it down watch" I told her.
They all began to fall back into formation but Steve went up to the pole and took the holding pole out, then grabbed the flag.
"Thank you, sir" Steve said breathlessly as he gave the sarge the flag then jumped into the car next to me. Me and Peggy smiled at him.

"Well done Steve" I cheerfully said.
"Thanks poll. How ya doing? How was buck before he left?"
"I'm good and he was so sad but he was brave and confident."
"Im glad, sorry I couldn't be there for him ya know"Steve informed me.
"It's fine don't worry your living your dream after all." I giggled.

"Polly, can you go back to the office and read my letters from this week and write reply's I haven't had time." Peggy asked me.
"Oh sure peg I can do that but don't you need help in the field."I asked.
"No I can handle it all thank you so much." She said as the car came to a stop and got out.
"Bye Steve good luck!" I waved.
"Bye Polly and thank you!" He chuckled.
Then the car started driving back to the office.

Couple hours later I had finished all her letters. I was now drawing on a random piece of paper, when the telephone rings. It was Peggy telling me I'm free to go home. I began getting ready to leave when the telephone rings again.

"Hello?" I answer.
"Hello Agent Labrown" it was Dr Eriskine.
"Oh hello doctor, what can I do for you?" I asked.
"Well your friend Steve Rogers is having a procedure done tomorrow. He will be injected with super soldier serum. I would like you to be there."
"Oh, oh right. Yes definitely I will be there." I was confused.
"Brilliant." He exclaimed.

"If you don't mind me asking doctor, what is this for? Why will this do for Steve?"
"Ah well, this is going to make Steve look like the best soldier. He will grow taller and get so much more muscular."
"Oh will he be okay?"
"Agent I have tested more than enough times, I can't promise he'll be okay but I'm sure he will perfect."
"Okay doctor thank you for calling and informing me of this, see you tomorrow."
"Your very welcome Agent labrown, bye now"
With that he ended the phone I was so confused. Why didn't Steve tell me about this?

After that, I went home and got shower. Whilst in the shower I though about today's events and how confused it made it. After the shower I got changed and got into bed with my journal. My therapist told me that I should write my day out before I go to bed everyday. He told me it would help with any anxiety I had that day. It would contrast to telling someone and lift the weight of my shoulders. James told me I should write to him in my journal everyday whilst he's gone. He told me he loves to hear about my day and the most important ones I can send to him. I can't send i letter to him everyday, but I can send the ones he would most want to hear about.

Dear James Buchanan Barnes,

Today was a confusing day. After you left I went to work like usual. Me and Peggy were training some new soldiers (well Peggy was I was just helping handle the paperwork) and Steve was there. Yes, Steve was in the line of soldiers. I was so confused and I knew you would be too. I don't t know how on Earth he got there. He wasn't doing well during the training. The other guys picked on him, a lot. He was strong though. You know that part in training where your running and have to stop at halfway to see if anyone could get the flag. Well Steve got it! I know, out all the men Steve got the flag and got to ride back with me and Peggy. I was so proud and I knew you would be too. I guess we now know where he was this morning. I haven't cried about you yet either. I'm actually proud I haven't. I know you would be proud of me too. I love you.

Sorry this chapters rubbish
I'm watching the move CATFA whilst writing so I properly stick to the time line and it's so hard to not just sit and watch the movie lol.
I'm hoping to watch and write to the movies I need to.
