chapter 3//

I was waiting outside Brooklyn antiques for Peggy and Steve.
"Polly!" It was Peggy with Steve.
"Poll, I didn't know you where coming." Steve said as he hugged.
"Dr Esrkine called me yesterday asking me to join." I answered.
"She also is my assistant so needs to be for me." Peggy informed.
"That as well!" I giggled.

"Come on." Peggy told us as she entered the building.
The bell rang through the shop as we entered. A women came out from behind some curtains.
"Wonderful weather this morning, isn't it?" She said cheerfully.
"Yes, but I always carry an umbrella." Peggy answered. I giggled.
The woman went behind the counter and pressed a button.

We made our way through the curtains, where the woman came from. We faced the bookshelves and then the bookshelves opened to reveal a hospital like hallway. We walked down and the metal doors opened. There were a load of scientists walking around this big machine. I guessed that's where Steve will be getting injected. We walked down the stairs to the main floor.

"Good morning." Dr Esrkine said to Steve as a camera flashed taking a photo of them.
"Please not now." Dr said to the photographer.
"Are you ready?" He asked Steve. Steve nodded
"Good. Take of your shirt your tie and your hat." He told him.

Steve layed down in the machine.
"Comfortable?" Dr asked him.
Steve chuckled. "It's a little big"
"You save me any of that schnapps?" Steve asked.
"Not as much as I should have. Sorry." Dr replied. I giggled.
"Mr stark how are your levels?" Dr said as Howard stark walked up to Steve.

"Levels at 100%." Stark replied.
"Good"
"We may dim half the lights in Brooklyn, but we are ready, as we'll ever be." Stark told Steve.
"Agent carter, labrown don't you think you'll be more comfortable in the booth?" Dr asked us.
"Yes of course. Sorry." Peggy quickly replied.
I took Steve's hand kissed it and told him.
"Good luck Steve."
"Thanks poll"

Then me and Peggy made our way up to the booth.
"Do you hear me? This on?" Dr said through a microphone.

As dr was saying a speech I zoned out and thought about all the bad possible outcomes of this experiment. I felt overwhelmed and like I wanted to explode, but I controlled myself and pushed all them feelings down.

"Serum infusion beginning in...5...4...3...2...1"
I closed my eyes, crossed my fingers and prayed. A light shined brightly, but I didn't dare open my eyes. I put my hands over my face, covering it. Then I heard Steve scream.

I opened my eyes and saw Peggy getting up. My ears started ringing. I followed Peggy. The lights was blinding everything was to much. I could feel the radiation. I needed to leave. I pushed the metal doors. Ran down the hallway. Back into the antiques shop. I continued to run down the street.

That's when I felt it. My eyes started stinging. I found an alleyway and ran down right the end of it. I grabbed the wall and squeezed my eyes shut. Then, I dropped to my knees. Everything around me fell to the floor. The bins where over, the rubbish bags been pushed away. Relief filled my body that this was over. I burst into tears. I hate it.

I sat there till I heard gunshots, explosions, shouting and car horns I ran down the alley on to the sidewalk I saw Peggy shooting at this yellow car. I ran down to her.

"Polly! Where have you been? I thought you were taken." She aid whilst shooting a gun.
"No, it was too much for me I couldn't see Steve hurt!" I shouted over the gunshots as I hid behind her. A yellow car was speeding toward us. I pulled a Peggy's arm.

"Peggy get out of the road!" I shouted at her. She wasn't bugging.
"Peggy! Peggy please," I pleaded.
Out of  no where me and Peggy are swept of our feet and tackled to the ground. I winced as my side hit the ground. Peggy got straight up.
"I had him!" She shouts. The man got up.
"Sorry!" He shouted as he started chasing the car.
Wincing, I got up. Peggy came to my side to help me up.

"Are you okay? What's happened?" She asked.
" I'm okay. Who is that man?" I replied.
"What? That's Steve. How long did you leave for?"
"What! It worked. Omg, it worked!" I laughed wincing as my side really hurt. I knew I had definitely broke a rib.

Peggy helped me to sit down on the sidewalk. She then lifted my top to reveal my side to her. I looked down, it was badly grazed and you could clearly see two broken ribs.

"Polly, we need to get you to a hospital this is bad." She told me calmly. No. No. I can't go to a hospital. What am I gonna do? It's bad, clearly hospital needed bad, but I cannot go to hospital.
"Oh no, it's fine, Dr Esrkine can help me." I lied.
"Oh Polly no. You can't do that. Dr he...he's just been shot."

"Oh my god" what happened? Now I really don't know what to do. I slowly stood up. Peggy held her arms out in case I fell. I took my hand and touched my side.
"Okay, let's go." I said.

Where in the hospital room now waiting for a nurse to come see me.
"Miss, Polly Labrown?" The nurse questioned as she came in my room.

"Yeh, that's me." I answered.
"Great, so your here for broken ribs and a bad graze?" The nurse asked.
"Oh, just a graze." I answered.
"What? No, she has two broken ribs there clearly broken!" Peggy exclaimed from beside me.
"Um no I didn't." I said confused.
"What are you talking about yes you did?" Peggy argued.

"No Peggy I didn't, are you alright?" I asked
"How bout I take a look and we can see if it's broken, mhm?" The nursed said.
"Yes you will see it is clearly broken." I rolled my eyes at Peggy's remark.

The nurse came over lift my shirt up. I help it up as she examined this area.
"Um good new. Ribs not broken but I will have to clean and bandage that graze." The nurse told us as she lowered my top

"Polly I don't understand. I swear with my life you broke your ribs I saw it with own eyes!" Peggy was rambling as we exited the hospital.
"Peggy please stop with this nonsense. I just want to go home and rest it's been a long week." I sighed.

"Of course. Sorry Polly." Peggy apologised.
"It's fine peg." I told her as we got in the car.
"Can you now explain what happened today?" I asked the car started driving.

Peggy explained everything to me. I was shocked. I went into my thoughts trying to figure out who would do this. Then it clicked. I know who did this.

I know this is very confusing and that I have got a lot of character development
But I promise this will all make sense soon.
