Chapter Four

Have you ever seen those nature shows in which the predator gazes on its prey? The prey knows that it's lurking from behind the dash of dry tall grass hiding it's existence for the essence of time? Yet, the prey is also unconscious because it doesn't know when it will strike, and if so, how? Will it be filled with misery, or will it be painful? For the purpose to calm down the heart rate, the prey will find any ounce of humanity to ready itself for death. Perhaps the fact that the predator is eating the prey is to gain some of the prey's insight. Then it becomes a terrible idea because the fear brawls from within. In which the truth is the simple fact that your body will be shredded into millions of pieces.

I tried to fight this testimony, this...destiny, since the day of the incident. As well as the week before and the same for the up coming week by being on the constant alert with my surroundings. Not just because of what I said to her and fear I'll unexpectedly cross paths with her passing periods, but because the whole school is congratulating me on my success to (as they say it) tell the bitch off. I'll have to check in with Frank to up the dose with the vicodin. It's these nerve wrecking days that really get to me. What if the vicodin isn't enough?

It's no surprise that I'm never at ease, at school nor at home. However, something immense is being weighed upon my chest. I can't seem to breath. There's nothing there, but it's there. Walking through the path, I'm near approaching a tree. I race towards it and place my arms on it to rest my forehead on it. Close my eyes, and count to ten. One, two, three... It's getting worse. The pain is closing in tighter on me. Four, five... I'm not relaxing, I'm panicing. My eyes widen in fear, my body trembles uncontrollably. I suddenly feel so light, lighter than usual. Six, seven, eight... Just concentrate on reaching ten. Nine... Am I going to sneeze, or am about to fall? I'm no longer closing my eyes, I see the world spinning. Very slowly in a circular motion, I don't even see the real figure behind the objects that surround me, rather a quick glimpse of their color. I feel the brush of pebbles enter my skin. A brush of fire resides on my cheek, as my body becomes acquainted with the concrete floor. I hear muffled voices drawing themselves closer to me. It's a high pitched voice.

"Omg, are you okay?" It asks but I can't feel anything.

"T..ten." I lightly whisper. I'm unsure if she heard me.

"Come on. I got you." The slither of the person's arm wrapped around my shoulder. Soon enough I'm up and about, but I feel no different then when I was down, other than the fact I now feel a strain placed on me.

"Oh,.." I'm going to vomit, as I hang my head low to throw out the gush. "don't go out on me again."

My vision is impaired. I can only make out fuzzy substances move way to quickly for my head to process. It continues to talk to me. Most importantly, it's still in my way. Now it tells me something about school, or maybe me being a fool. It appears my hearing is a bit on the buzz too. My heart pain is gone, decided to attack the pit of my stomach. Then it hits me. Something, a football, a bully, fucken life. Right there. On my belly button. It's still there, and I feel I need to rearrange my organs to prevent this agony to flow and vibrate thought my body. I groan as I cover my stomach by wrapping my arms around it. The arm once placed, is no longer there. I close my eyes. TEN!! I scream in my interiors. I slowly detach my arms from my abdomen to realize that the pain is gone. I open my eyes and see the black concrete floor. A bit higher and I see some leather boots. Black and tainted. Further more, some black leggings reside covering the thighs and legs of this person. Finally standing, the face I come to contact with is that of a girl. What a no brainer.
I've never seen here before. I must admit, however, she is stunning. With her black curled hair. Not those natural curly hairs but the ones that they make. The amount of makeup hinders plenty but also the right amount for her figure. Which is narrow at the curve of her face that goes back up to her head. Her ocean blue eyes. So bright. You can see the deep difference between any other ordinary blue eyes, and the ones I see before me. For these eyes, are so bright, it must be something more magnificent than the human life because it isn't an ordinary thing seen with the human eye itself.

I must be a fool to her.

"You okay there buddy?" Her voice is so light, it squeaks into my ear. Yeah, I know who she is. The one to make me look like a joke. I didn't see it because I was basically crawling in pain. I immediately turn around, away from her, and resume to the path to.lead.me away from this wretched place.

"Wait, hold on." She screams from behind, comes racing for me, and lightly touches my shoulder. I quickly back away from her like she's a vicious animal ready to eat me. She becomes frightened as she backs away from me.

"Okay, I'm sorry. Didn't mean to startle you." She raises her hand as if she surrenders when thus has only begun.

"You just won't let up will you?" I sarcastically state while nodding my head in disbelief.

"What?" She acts confused, when we all know what's going on. It irritates my soul to see how fake they have become.

I'm basically running towards her, look down on her. "Leave me the fuck alone." I hiss scornfully.

"But I.." Don't let them speak, they don't have the right."

"Shut the fuck up. You venomous bitch!" Her eyes lay straight ahead. Now they won't even look me in the eye after manga years of torture. That's when tears fall from those watery eyes. Whom of which have turned a light pink around her eyes. Her makeup is still perfect as before. I turn back to the path which leads to the many intertwined paths to one, to all reach the same thing. The exit.
