I am a warrior from a long line of warriors. It is in my blood. I am a warrior who values their freedom. I will fight for it. I am afraid but I can control my fear long enough to listen to my mind, listen to my heart, listen to my mind, remember my training so I can succeed. I am a warrior. It is in my blood. I deserve my dreams. I am a warrior who values their freedom. I am loved by those willing to fight for me and who are willing to die for me. This is a warrior's treasure. I am a brave warrior who is free.
This is a saying that every Frostbourne soldier is taught. They often repeat this to themselves when the going gets tough. This was the saying that Lyria kept repeating in her head when she had been sent to scout out the Pillager Town. After returning from the Far Plains, Lord Patrick had found out that Kane and Ciara might have created another enemy when searching for the crystal. They were only supposed to retrieve the crystal but ended up having a huge fight with the pillagers. Not to mention the fact that they had left the Pillager King for the undead to devour, oh and Kane had blown up the crystal during what was meant to be an easy task. Lord Patrick was concerned that the Pillagers might want to avenge their king and so he ordered for a scout to be sent there at once. The problem was that many scouts had been sent out to keep watch on the advancing Nether army. Those who remained in Dreadfort had been severely injured when the Nether King had torn it apart with a canon ball. To make matters worse Lady Azura had not returned since she had entered the Nether to reclaim an end crystal. This meant that the only available scout was Captain Lyria.
Lyria had loathed the idea of her assignment when she had first been informed but now she was actually traveling to the Pillager Town she hated it even more. Having never been on a scouting mission without other soldiers, she was scared of being alone by herself. She was a soldier and not a spy after all. Taking out her map, she checked her location and realised that she would not reach the town before nightfall. The dark only added to the increasing list of reasons why she should have been extremely stubborn and refused this task. Upon reaching the town Lyria would have to check the place out in the dark as there were no other towns close by where she could rest and wait for the dawn.
The sun had long set when Lyria eventually reached the twinkling lights of the town. She couldn't be more relieved as she had only had the light of the stars to guide her until now. She thought that it would be best if she found a hiding place to wait out the rest of the night and she could rest after such a long journey. Flying low amongst the different buildings, she searched for a good spot to hide in. Most of the potential places she had seen were either too exposed or were too tight for her to remain there for several hours. As she glided past the mansion in the heart of the town she saw that one of the windows was open. 'Hmm...there would be plenty of unused rooms in there that I could hide in.' She thought. Careful to not make any noise, she landed on the windowsill and crept into the room double checking that it was unoccupied. Noticing that no one else was in the room she decided that she would stay here for the rest of the night as the room was rather spacious and would be out of sight of the prying eyes of the townsfolk should Lyria not wake up before them.
The dimly lit room had a number of different things hidden under clothes. This room was probably a storage room and not used very often and so the clothes had been placed over things to protect them from any dust. Lyria was a naturally curious person and thus went to peer under one of the clothes. She had only lightly lifted the cloth but the cloth was slippery and soon slid onto the floor. When the cloth fell it had revealed a mirror it had been concealing. It was a beautiful object with its old wooden frame so delicately carved out. Lyria put her hand up to the mirror to touch it, only to feel something grab her hand before she found herself passing out...
