NOAH

Morgan groaned as she stood from the toilet, shuffling around. "That damn Brun, I'll kill him."

Morgan had asked her on and off boyfriend Forrest Brun to fetch her three different flavours of ice cream. He was late, all Bruns were late... well except one.

"I'm sure he—" The door bell rang.

"Speak of the devil." She snarled and wobbled to the door.

Morgan was just about ready to pop. The predicted date was in three weeks.

Forrest yelped as I walked into the living room. He had bought more than the three tubs of ice cream he was supposed to buy. Another thing that run though all Bruns, always going beyond.

She had gotten out today. I knew it. I had always known her release date, since Dan Sharpool was married to my hairdresser and hairdressers love to gossip.

I could smell the telltale aroma of Old Mc Donald's burgers. They had definitely done one of their dumb celebratory dinners. I remembered when I had attended one for him.

"You're so lucky you got Oreo flavour."

Forrest narrowed his eyes at Morgan. She had never asked for Oreo flavour.

Morgan and I lived in the apartment together. Okay it was more of a penthouse but that was besides the point. Ever since we had completed high school we moved in. Sure, our wealthy parents were paying but we were smart enough to get the lease in our names.

Her parent's reaction to her pregnancy was not shocking. But when she told them she was keeping it they looked like they were having a stroke.

They took a few days but eventually calmed down and the Therons were more than happy for their incoming grandchildren. Twins.

My parents hid their distaste well. The Therons were long friends of the Reed's, they wouldn't jeopardize their friendship. Even if they disapproved of Morgan keeping the child.

"Tomorrow doctor's appointment." Morgan sighed while nudging Forrest with her foot.

Forrest groaned and shifted away from her leg. "Why me? Is Noah dying or something?"

Morgan rolled her eyes as I opened a tub of strawberry ice cream.

"A date." I mumbled.

Forrest huffed with an eye roll.

My parents had set up another date for me. The last was two weeks before and I had foolishly thought they wouldn't bring it up again.

"After what that douche bag did last time?"

I shrugged at Forrest and turned to face the TV.

Morgan watched me carefully before asking her question. "So did you tell Sawyer?"

I grit my teeth and took in a shaky breath.

Forrest glanced at me before speaking. "She was kinda mad we didn't tell her earlier... but she's cool... I guess."

"I guess? Forrest—"

"I'm going to check on Rascal." I interrupted and got up.

I loved Morgan, more than I loved my parents. But sometimes she was a bit much. I knew what she was trying to do. But I had ended things with Sawyer for us both, even if no one saw it that way. I didn't need her trying to get me to speak to Sawyer. Especially since she was out of prison.

Rascal was our rabbit. Well he was technically for the old lady who lived next to us but her kids were all allergic so she gave her to us. The rabbit was really small, sitting snugly in my palm barely spilling over. Her cage was the size of a hamster cage.
