NOAH
After we finished celebrating Shepherd's win at Old Mc Donald's Sawyer kissed my head, reminding me of our date that evening.
"Why are you in pants?" Morgan lifted an eyebrow as she wobbled to my bedroom door frame.
I smiled and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear.
"Sawyer said to dress casual." I shrugged.
Morgan leaned against the frame and smiled. "I'm so happy you're back together."
"Well... we haven't really gotten back together."
Morgan smirked. "Only a matter of time I guess. Well I am dying so I'm going to bother Forrest."
I chuckled a bit as she wobbled away.
Rascal nestled into my side as I sat on my bed, waiting patiently for Sawyer.
I was nervous. I was excited to see what Sawyer had planned and incredibly worried something could go wrong. My father's threat lingered in the back of my mind like a plague.
Rascal licked my fingers and I giggled a bit, rubbing the rabbit's head.
When the door bell rung my heart skipped a beat and I bounced to my feet.
Morgan had open the door and appeared to be scolding Sawyer.
"You better bring her back at a reasonable hour young woman."
Sawyer chuckled but slowly stopped as I came into view, Rascal in my arms.
She was holding a bouquet of tulips. The same flowers she gave me on our first official date.
She was also wearing the same outfit. Black cotton pants, A white t shirt and a blue round neck long sleeve over it. With shinny leather ankle boots.
"You look beautiful." She breathed.
I smiled shyly and pushed some hair away from my face, slowly handing Rascal over to Morgan.
We stood silently opposite each other in the doorway for a while, just smiling. Then Sawyer gently gave me the tulips.
"You look beautiful."
"You look even better." I whispered, placing the tulips on the table beside the door and stepping out of the apartment.
"Be back before midnight!" Forrest teased, earning a middle finger from Sawyer as she slipped her other hand around my waist.
The night was cold and I stepped more into Sawyer's body heat as we approached her bike.
"You kept my helmet?" I asked as I saw the bright blue helmet Sawyer had painted for me. It was originally black, which I had complained about. She had spent day slowly extracting information on how I would like the helmet without me noticing then gave it to me on a date.
"Of course baby." She smiled and kissed my head before putting the helmet on my head and doing the same for herself. It smelt like the shampoo I used in high school and a lingering scent of her detergent.
I had forgotten how nerve wracking riding at the back of the bike was.
Sawyer laughed while I tightened my grip on her torso. She sped up when we got to an empty road. I recognised the road immediately.
"Sawyer!"
She laughed loudly again and banked a curve, slowing a bit.
"I thought about having it at Mc Donald's but Old Mason and Mama Imelda literally threatened to be a nuisance.... Then I found the helmet in my room!" She yelled over the rumble of her bike.
I gasped when the clearing came into view.
When we were teenagers we had found a cute broken gazebo. We had our first date there. We even first fucked there.
It was still covered in moss now, but it was clear Sawyer had worked on it a bit more since she returned from prison.
When she parked the bike and helped me off I nearly cried at the little lights she had set up around.
"Aw Sawyer."
She wrapped her arms around my waist from behind and kissed my neck softly.
"I got pomegranate, some cake and white wine."
"A first date recreation?" I whispered.
"A first date recreation." She whispered into my neck.
I swallowed and nodded.
Sawyer led me to the gazebo. A picnic blanket had been laid on the old wood and a basket sat at the centre.
The same old blanket, and from the look of the old basket also the same basket.
"Aw Sawyer." I sighed, I couldn't stop a tear from rolling down my face.
Sawyer sat on the blanket and pulled me down. When I sat beside her she lifted me by my waist and sat me between her legs before opening the basket to remove the stuff.
"You seem really light Noah."
I placed my head on her shoulder. "That's because you have bigger muscles Sawyer."
Sawyer hummed and kissed my cheek before feeding me some grapes. "I want you to finish whatever food I give you."
I swallowed the grape and sighed. "I'm fine Sawyer."
"Don't even try to lie to me Noah." Sawyer's tone dropped a bit.
The wine was amazing, with the grapes, pomegranate and the cake.
"You ate everything." Sawyer smiled into my neck after we packed up the empty dished.
"I guess I love it when you feed me."
Sawyer smiled but sighed. "I'm really worried about your eating habits Noah. You used to pass out in high school."
"You know that was stress."
"Yeah—but it was also low energy levels from lack of food... promise you'll eat at least twice a day."
I knew it would be hard, and the eating wasn't nearly as bad as when I was in high school, but if It'd make Sawyer feel better I would do it.
"I promise."
Sawyer kissed me softly before we packed up the stuff and got back on the bike.
"Go slow," I whispered as I slipped my arms around her.
The city was beautiful this late, barely any cars moved around and the wind gently glowing against us was amazing.
When we stopped back at the apartment I wasn't ready for the night to end.
"Do you want to come upstairs?"
Sawyer smirked and looked up at the apartment complex. "Of course."
It was late, and it appeared Morgan and Forrest were asleep so we tiptoed slowly into the dark space. Giggling as we hit the couch and tables and shushing each other.
We collapsed on the bed in our underwear, having discarded our clothes.
I lay my head against Sawyer's chest, listening to her heartbeat.
"I love you Noah."
I smiled and hugged her tighter. "I love you too."
