Chapter 30: His Other Side

-Shibuya, Tokyo-

Kaboom!

A large explosion rocked Shibuya, sending plumes of smoke into the air as bystanders gaped in shock. Watanabe finally broke the silence, her voice filled with disbelief. "How... is he doing that?" she exclaimed, watching Kai deflect a blast into the sky. The crowd was stunned, except for Ai and the twins, who were focused on the unfolding chaos.

Kai was struggling against two formidable fighters when Mira struck him from behind, sending him crashing into a nearby building. As he assessed their strength, he thought, "Shit, he's strong! If I fight one at a time, I might stand a chance... but with Mira in the mix..."

Mira floated nearby with the Masked Saiyan, taunting him. "How long did you intend to stay there?!"

"Geez, give me two minutes!" Kai yelled back at the bio-android. Dusting himself off, he frowned at his torn shirt. "My limited edition B-Komachi merchandise..." He sighed before removing it entirely and checking his watch.

"You're going to pay... for that shirt," he muttered as he pushed a button on his watch, transforming into his ancient Saiyan armor. He tried to communicate with Trunks or Chronoa at the Time Nest, but only static greeted him.

"As I thought, they blocked communication. I have no choice but to fight them alone..." he said to himself. This wasn’t new to him, but he still worried about stopping them.

Taking a deep breath, Kai flew towards Mira and Bardock after sensing Aqua's Ki alongside Ai and the twins.

"Good, they're fine," he sighed in relief before focusing on his opponents. His muscles bulged as he raised his Ki, causing the ground to tremble and shattering nearby glass.

"HAARRHHH!!" A massive wave of energy enveloped him as he roared. His hair turned yellow and spikier, crackling with lightning as he transformed into Super Saiyan 2, illuminating the city in bright light.

"He's Gaia!?" gasped the crowd, except for Ai, Saitou, Miyako, and the twins. Ai's expression shifted to one of fear as she worried about Kai's ability to defeat both fighters.

"I can't allow you to bring more harm to this world. I'm finishing this here and now!!" Kai declared with determination as he sped towards Mira.

Mira threw a punch at him, but Kai caught his fist and propelled himself toward Bardock, delivering a powerful kick to his stomach. He then fired a Masenko at Mira, who deflected it effortlessly before engaging Kai in combat.

(A/N: I'll be referring Masked Saiyan as Bardock. It's easier and more convenient when writing a fighting scene.)

Bardock stopped himself midair, preparing to join Mira against Kai, but he protested. "Let me fight him alone. He's mine to defeat!"

Towa shook her head in defeat, signaling Bardock to stand down. Reluctantly, Bardock floated back, watching as the fight continued. Kai was sent crashing to the ground, his body covered in bruises and cuts, but he struggled to rise again.

Mira loomed over him, a smirk on his face. "Is that all you've got, Saiyan? I expected more from you."

Kai gritted his teeth, feeling the pain coursing through his body. He knew he had to push through. As he rose unsteadily, he felt his energy surge within him. The fight was far from over.

Mira unleashed a barrage of energy blasts, each one exploding against the ground around Kai, sending debris flying. Kai dodged and weaved through the attacks, but one blast caught him off guard, knocking him back down.

"You're getting slower," Mira taunted, hovering just out of reach.

Kai's eyes narrowed as he focused on Mira's movements. "I can’t let him get the upper hand," he thought. With a fierce yell, he pushed himself up again, determined not to stay down.
