CHAPTER 20: GOD SLAYER PART 2

"Shit!" Ko cursed as he watched Vin in the BTC news entering the gray dome wearing the very famous God Armor.

"What is it?" Kana asked.

"A nuisance appeared."

"Vin?"

"That one, and look what he is wearing." 

"Why is he wearing the God Armor? Their rival company manufactured it?"

"Oh! You did not hear. The Albays bought the rights from Halos Corp. They are the owners now."

"Don't worry. We don't know if the armor would protect him against 8891's dome."

"I have a feeling that it will." Ko sighed. Standing on the roof deck of a 50-story building, he looked over the horizon where the gigantic gray dome lay.

He sat on a lotus position and opened Kana's journal to page 30.

"Ko, I'm begging you...

"Kana, we already talked about this. I'm doing this."

"Let's think of another way!"

"No! This is the best option. I'm using The Puppet Spell, end of the story, so keep quiet."

"You can die performing this ritual."

"I'm a slayer. Death is part of the job."

 Ko chose to perform The Puppet Ritual, which will give him the power to control the dead by possessing them. His soul will leave his body split into pieces, each possessing a corpse. He will then have a small army of warriors that can't die.

From his years of experience as a slayer, Ko knows that when a rouge god attacks, they leave a trail of dead bodies. Ko will have many corpses to use for his army.

"Lama utak sana lamsa lahil doto...." Ko recited the verses. His eyes closed deep in meditation. Kana was on the verge of going insane but ultimately trusted Ko.

Ko felt his soul leave his body; simultaneously, he felt like it never left at all. All out once, he perceived he was sitting on the roof deck of the Monkey Finance building while also present in many different places inside the gray dome in Cornero City.

The situation was worse than Ko thought. The dome reeked of blood, and the streets were a sea of dead bodies. Many tanks and drones were destroyed. The whole city was painted red.

With Ko's will, he ordered a handful of corpses to roam the bloodied streets and hunt down 8891.

He kept splitting his soul further to possess more dead people, widening his search and army.

 In what felt like an hour, finally, Ko spotted 8891 at the Dragon Hanging Bridge, but the rouge god was not alone. She was fighting the last person Ko wanted to see—Vin Albay.

Vin was frantically shifting from an elephant to a tiger, an alligator, an eagle, and many more ferocious animals. Magically, the armor adjusted its measurements and design to accommodate whichever animal he became.

Alarmed to see Vin pressuring 8891, Ko willed thousands of dead humans to charge the hanging bridge. The Goddess and Vin were confused to see dead bodies frantically running towards them.

One of the perks of the spell was that Ko could lend his skills and power to all the corpses he possessed.

Ko made the hanging bridge shake. But 8891 punched the pavement, and it violently made a crack in the entire pavement. The sheer force collapsed the bridge into the freezing waters of Mount Bay.

Ko was not faced. He created a water vortex that plunged the Goddess into the abyss, drowning her. But he was distracted when Vin became a shark and started ripping apart all the corpses.

Out of nowhere, something felt deadly wrong. The vortex disappeared, and 8891 swam away. With a trail of blood, Vin, with his shark reflexes, propelled toward the disoriented God.

 Ko tried to control all the corpses to go after them, but he was becoming weaker for unknown reasons.

Then, all the corpses began shaking uncontrollably like they were having a seizure. The bodies seemed to be rejecting Ko's soul.

Instantly, pieces of Ko's soul were all back in his body. For some strange reason, Ko knew that he was dying. The ritual backfired, and his soul had taken a nasty wound. His life energy was shattered, and there was no going back. Before he lost consciousness, he heard Kana screaming his name.
