Journey to the forest

"What if we go into the forest?" The question surprised Jingshen. Since he was currently working a shift. He didn't even see Mei and Mk until it was too late.

"I beg your pardon?" He asked, staring at them in confusion.

"Yeah like, there's a perfectly good forest outside of Megapolis! Yet we never visit it!" Mei spoke over his question. Incredibly exited about the forest.

"That's probably because of how dangerous it is—"

"Really, Jingshen? Name like one dangerous thing!" Mk asked, only to be surprised about how much Jingshen actually knew about the forest.

"Tigers, poisonous insects and animals, black bears! There's so many dangerous things, and I'm not even going to list the plants!" He finished, crossing his arms as Mei and Mk glanced at each other.

"Okay, so, Jingshen, you will be our guide!" Mk excitedly said, grabbing his hand and dragging him away.

"Wait no—"

"Yay we won't die!" Mei shouted as they exited the anti-gravity arcade. As Mk continued to drag Jingshen he just accepted his fate. There was nothing he could do to stop them. They were just gonna kidnap him again. Why do they keep doing that?

"I can walk, you know."

"Oh right!" Mk let go of his hand as Jingshen walked besides them.

"So why do you guys want to visit the forest?" He tilted his head, curious as to why they wanted to go into the vast dangerousness of the unknown.

"Because why not?" Mk shouted, even though they were all right next to him.

"How do you know so much about the forest anyway, Jingshen?" Mei asked, staring at him with familiar green eyes.

"I'm just smart like that!" Jingshen bragged, smirking.

"I've seen him read nature books." Mk interrupted his thoughts. Jingshen scowled at him

"Oh, Jingy is a nerd~"

"Mei, I will bite you!"

"I'll bite back."

"I've met my match, touché."

They had now just entered the forest and Mk was face first in the dirt as Mei tackled him. Pretending to be a tiger.

"J-Jingshen HELP!" He started giggling. "SHE'S GOING TO TICKLE ME TO DEATH!"

"Good." He deadpanned, walking away from the two of them.

"JINGSHEN WAIT WATCH OUT-" As Mk shouted out the warning he was tackled to the ground by Mei.

"Mei what're you doing?"

"Attacking you, guy."

"Why?"

"I don't kn—" He bit her, and in return she bit him. He stood up, Mei still attached to him. "Yay, a ride!" She exclaimed, holding onto him for dear life. Jingshen sighed, apparently he was her ride now.

"Where to?"

"River."

"Just a random river?"

"You heard me!"

"Okay jeez—"

Mk walked besides Jingshen, he didn't seem tired from holding Mei. He actually seemed fine, like he could do that all day. Everything was fun, Jingshen would point out random plants and tell them a random fact about them. Jingshen seemed to enjoy talking about plants. Mk could tell by his smile and the way he spoke softly about them. The birds were singing, a quiet yet beautiful song.
