"I think heaven will be like a first kiss."
Chula Uni, two months later –
"I will be finishing late P'Phayu. Khap... khap... no no, no need to pick me up. Dad will do that on his way back from the office. Chai, okay Phi, I have to go, the gang is waiting to practice with me," Rain spoke to Phayu on the phone. "Chai Phi, bye, swadee khap!" he signed off. "Can't you stop your sweetness for like two minutes?" Sky asked, rolling his eyes. "It's getting too much now!" he said. Rain laughed. "You can have your own sweetness too, if only you agree to date P'Pai," Yihwa hit him on the head. "Ow! What the hell Yihwa?" Sky said, in his most annoyed tone. "She is right. You need to give that poor dude a chance. He is following you around like a lovesick puppy since almost 2 months. Give him a break," Sig said, laughing as well.
Kirigun House, 2 weeks before –
Almost one and a half months had gone by since Rain had given permission to Phayu to pursue him. They had gone on sweet dates, held hands as they walked on the beach, even a couple of forehead kisses. But nothing below that. Phayu kept himself a bit aloof. Whenever Rain tried to get closer, he would excuse himself and say he was busy the next day and drop Rain off. Finally, a heavily frustrated Rain had gathered his loved ones, including his fathers, Phayu's dads and his friends and Pai and Cho, to name a few, together. They had all met at his house and Rain had clearly announced that he was irritated by Phayu's lack of initiating intimacy. The older men had been by turns appalled and amused at Rain's openness in talking to them, but had decided to give him their whole support.
Ideas had flown back and forth. And Rain had not been convinced by any of them, becoming more and more discouraged. "I have an idea," Type said. He had not contributed anything at all so far, not very accepting of the whole discussion, so Rain was quite interested in knowing his opinion. "Go ahead Pa," he said. "Your birthday is coming up soon lukchay. Let Phayu plan a party and you then know what to do," he said. Rain thought for a while. "Yessss, thanks Pa! I knew you are the best!" he said, hugging Type. Type hugged his son back, his heart still worrying about Rain's seeming fixation on Phayu. But somewhere, he was also relieved that Phayu was, as promised, not taking advantage of his son.
Since Rain and Phayu had started seeing each other, the two families had gotten together and become closer. The friends of both the families had also started connecting. The biggest reason behind this was Rain's constant effort to keep people he loved close by. He was a little ball of sunshine and everyone wanted to bask in his warmth. So he easily ensured that everyone did stuff together, as a family! Even Type, who was not entirely sure of Phayu, found a good friend in Pete, who had a personality very similar to his own. And he tried to understand Phayu as well, who tried to please him a lot. "Pai, you need to take charge of this," Kinn said, looking at his son. "Why me? Phayu should do it," he whined, immediately getting hit on the head by Sky. "What Uncle Kinn means is that you need to tell P'Phayu to plan Rain's birthday! How dense are you?" he said, rolling his eyes. When it came to Pai, that was Sky's constant expression. Rain had once teased him that one day, that his eyes would roll to the back of his head, and never return. Sky had waved in the air in his trademark gesture, making everyone laugh.
"What a smart boy! You should learn from him Pai," Kinn said to his son. "Abuse, and more abuse is all I face," he said, looking sadly at the wall, and wiping an imaginary tear from his eye. "This boy gets your 'drama queen' tendencies Ai'Pete," Porche said, looking at his friend. "I am glad, someone in the family does," Pete said, grinning. "Okay, okay," Rain clapped his hands. "Back to the topic. P'Pai, can I trust you to handle the situation?" Rain asked him, a bit doubtfully. "Of course not!" "Of course Nong!" Sky and Pai spoke at the same time. Pai immediately made his puppy-dog eyes at Sky. "Aww, baby, you don't trust me?" he asked. "Baby? Who is your baby?" Sky glared at him. "Sky!" Fiat said, pulling his ear. "He is your Phi na? Behave ja!" he hissed.
