you guys had the day off and today was spencer jrs first birthday! you were so so SO excited, cause you remember his birth like it was yesterday. you invited a few people, like the team obviously, your parents, and spencers mom.

"mom, can you stay here so i can get the cake?" you told your mom.

"of course i can honey." she said smiling, taking spencer jr out of your hands.

"great! thanks, love you!" you said kissing on her on the cheek and grabbing your keys.

-spencer-

"hey um mrs taylor, can i ask you something?" i said.

"spencer, honey please call me margie, and yes?" she said feeding spencer jr his bottle.

"i've been planning to marry y/n for a few months now, and my mother gave me her ring and i'm wondering do i have your permission to marry her?"i said pulling out my mothers ring and showing her mom.

"oh spencer, it's so beautiful and of course i grant you my permission to marry y/n." she said smiling.

"oh thank you so much."i said giving her a side hug then taking my son while margie prepared the lunch.

"oh my the cake is so cute! i love it!" i told jessica, my best friend who made spencer's cake.

"thank you girl, i wish i could come so bad." she said frowning.

"aw im sorry jess, but ill save you a slice and drop it by your house." i said smiling.

"aw thanks y/n!" she said smiling.

i paid her $100 and tipped her $85.

-3rd person-

everyone came to the house around 11:30 and the party started at 11:00. you guys ate the cake, shared laughs, shared memories, shared stories. then spencer got up and got everyone's attention.

"guys! i have something i would like to say."' he said standing up.

everyone turned and looked at him. he was wearing a while button up, without the first three buttons buttoned exposing a little bit of chest. he was wearing khaki pants, mismatched socks, and his converse.

"as you guys know, my beautiful girl, y/n, has made me a better person, a better man, a better father, and a better husband." he said turning at you, and grabbing your hand.

"husband?" you said confused and smiled.

spencer got down on one knee and pulled out his mothers ring from his pocket.

"i made a promise to you that i will marry you. and you're the girl i want to spend the rest of my life with. and today, im fulfilling that promise. y/n, i've known you for years now. you make me so happy, you make me smile, you make me laugh, you make me nu-nice things, and i want to spend every second with you. so, will you do the honors and marrying me?" he said on one knee and holding the ring.

"YES!" you said smiling and tearing up.

he took the promise ring off and placed his mothers ring on your finger. in a few weeks, you can officially say that you're y/n m/n reid.
