You're playing Dejarik with Tech in the main area of the ship. Everyone else is in their rooms.
"Ha. I'm winning." You say proudly.
Tech laughs. "Not for long."
He moves one of his pieces closer to yours.
"I knew you were going to do that." You sigh.
"By using the Force?" He asks, a bit confused.
You nod. "Somewhat. When I was training to become a Jedi, one of the most important things we were taught how to do was to anticipate our opponent's next moves. To figure out their intentions."
"Then... why haven't you used the Force to win every time?" He says.
You smile. "It doesn't always work like that. Plus, you're a bit hard to read."
Tech doesn't seem shocked by you saying this. "I have been told this by many different people."
You sit there for a few moments, just staring at Tech.
"Y/N. It is your turn." Tech states.
You focus back on the game and begin to take your turn. "Oh, right."
"Am I too distracting?" Tech jokes.
"A little bit. It's so annoying. I'm trying to win." You huff.
"Well, there is a very strong probability that I'll win." He says.
"Hm. We'll see about that." You tease.

After Tech ends up winning (as usual), you take the Dejarik board off of Gonky so he can walk around. Tech is across the ship, eating some rations. You aren't looking at him, but you can sense his presence, and that he's looking at you.
"You're staring. Is something wrong?" You ask, looking over at him.
Tech walks closer to you. "No. I was just thinking about how we met."
You think back to the day when you were sitting in the back corner of Cid's Parlor, trying to keep a low profile.
"That day." You smile. "For a while, Cid let me lay low there. After I told her I was a Jedi, she told me I could stay since her parlor was a popular spot with the Jedi."
"Echo mentioned Jedi being at the parlor during the Clone Wars. Hunter noticed you trying to get our attention, and you talked with us outside." Tech remembers.
You laugh. "Hunter was so skeptical of me at first. He didn't even believe I was a Jedi until I moved that one piece of scrap metal nearby with the Force."
Tech hesitates for a moment, then asks, "Why didn't I go on any missions with you when you were in the Order?"
"I wasn't assigned to the 501st and the 212th all that often, and those were the squadrons you all worked with a lot. Since I wasn't a Padawan of Master Kenobi or Anakin, I was usually assigned to the 104th or others like that." You explain.
"I wish I could've known you sooner." Tech says.
"Well, if I had met you sooner, I would've fallen in love, and most likely been expelled from the Order." You respond.
Tech smiles. "I didn't realize how profound your love for me was."
You kiss him on the cheek. "Well, I thought it was obvious."

You and Tech decide to eat some rations since you haven't eaten for a little while. You sit in one of the cockpit chairs next to him.
"Are your abilities like Hunter's heightened senses?" Tech asks casually.
"My abilities? Don't you mean my 'Jedi stuff'?" You tease.
Tech sighs, smiling. "You will never let me live that down, huh, mesh'la?"
"Nope." You grin. "To answer your question though, not exactly. The Force surrounds all of us, and it also lives within us. Certain people have more of an aptitude for it. Hunter's abilities are more physical, given that his DNA has been altered, whereas a Jedi's abilities somewhat depend on their Midi-chlorian levels, but mostly are from training their mind."
"Fascinating." Tech marvels.
You take a bite of your food. "Yes, the Force is quite interesting."
Tech shakes his head. "Well, yes, the Force is intriguing, but that is not what I was getting at. I meant that I find you fascinating."
"I appreciate it, but I'm not anything too special. There were plenty of Jedi that were much better than me." You say.
"I disagree." Tech responds. "You were clearly a good candidate for the Jedi Order, and your Midi-chlorian levels are high, possibly above average for a Jedi."
"How do you know what my Midi-chlorian levels are?" You ask, confused.
"It is not exactly hard to recover a person's files given my exceptional mind." Tech says.
"Yeah, yeah, but why did you search for my files in the first place?" You continue.
"I had my suspicions about you." He says bluntly.
"And look where we are now." You chuckle.
