Wedding Day

Summary: You and Tech get married!

Warnings: N/A (This is probably some of the cheesiest, fluffiest fanfiction I've ever wrote)

A/N: I know some of you have been really wanting me to continue this story, so I wrote another chapter. I know I haven't been updating that much lately, but sometimes it gets overwhelming to update multiple stories. After this chapter, I may temporarily mark this story as complete (just because I have a lot of other stories to work on as well).

     The day you and Tech have been dreaming of for so long is finally here: your wedding day! After a lot of planning, you finally have everything ready. Most of your friends are able to attend your wedding today, too. Right now, you're standing in front of a mirror in Lyana's room wearing your dress. Lyana and Omega insisted on helping you get ready for your big day, so they're in the room with you. 

"Are you alright, Y/N?" Lyana asks. "You look nervous."

She's not entirely wrong. You're fidgeting, and you can't help but feel nervous for the ceremony later today. You know that you're making the right decision by marrying Tech, but you still can't quite comprehend that it's finally happening.

"I'm a little nervous." You admit. "But today will be amazing."

"It will." Omega reassures you. 

     Omega is wearing a blue dress in a similar style as yours. You chose her as your bridesmaid/maid of honor, and you can tell that she's very happy about it. Lyana is wearing a different dress, and she'll be the flower girl for the wedding. You wonder if Rex, Cutt, and your other friends are here already. 

"Can we help you with your hair?" Omega asks. 

"Sure." You respond.

     As Omega and Lyana style your hair, you realize that you've never had anyone help you get ready like this. At the Jedi Academy, you didn't have a lot of opportunities for events like this- the most fancy events being the occasional dinner with your friends at the academy. You look at yourself in the mirror as they style your hair, and you smile, seeing how excited both of them look for you.

After a while, Omega and Lyana finish styling your hair. "Do you like it?" Omega asks.

     You look at yourself again. You look much different than you have in the last few months. You don't look exhausted and weary. You look rejuvenated and healthy. Your hair is styled wonderfully (A/N: I didn't include pictures of specific hairstyles because I know that people have many different hair types). 

You smile. "It's perfect. Thank you both."

"There are a few hours until the wedding starts, so we'll let you relax for a while." Lyana says, her and Omega leaving the room.

     The room feels too quiet. You're used to the constant chatter of the squad. You practice giving your wedding vows, and even just saying them out loud to yourself in the mirror makes you nervous. You keep looking at the clock on the wall, checking the time. You think about Tech, wondering if his brothers are helping him get ready right now. You decide to meditate for a while to try and clear your head. Your mind is racing, imagining all of the possible things that could go wrong. You attempt to let these thoughts go, focusing on the parts of your wedding that you've been daydreaming about for a long time. Eventually, you check the clock and see that it's time for you to go to the wedding venue.

You stand up and make sure everything on your dress looks good one more time before exiting the room. You take a deep breath as you step outside the door, beginning to walk down to the beach where you, Omega, and Lyana decided to meet at. 

"Y/N!" Omega calls out as she sees you, waving.

You wave back to her, quickening your pace, but being careful not to trip as you walk along the stone path. In the distance, you can see the wedding venue set up.

"Everyone is there and excited to see you." Lyana comments as the three of you walk over to the location.

Once you get down there, everyone turns in their seats to look over at you. You can hear them quietly talking about how beautiful you look and how they can't wait for the wedding to start. You know that Tech is waiting at the end of the aisle, but you're too afraid to look at him at the moment.

     Rex walks over to you. He looks different. You're startled at first as you notice that instead of his usual blue and white armor, he's wearing a suit. 

"I know I'm not the best person to walk you down the aisle, but I figured that you should have someone." 

You smile. "I appreciate it, Rex."

You look down the aisle and see Tech. The two of you make eye contact, and he smiles nervously. Omega is now at the altar on the left side, waiting for you. Hunter, Wrecker, Echo, and Crosshair are standing on the right side of the altar near Tech. Lyana begins to walk down the aisle, throwing rose petals as she walks. 

Soon, Rex links his arm with yours, and you two begin to walk down the aisle. You're holding your bouquet in your left hand. As you get closer and closer to the altar, Tech's face coming into view even more, you smile, realizing that you're making the right decision. Once you arrive at the altar, Rex goes to sit down. You hand your bouquet to Omega for her to hold during the ceremony. You look up at Tech, making eye contact with your future husband.

     Shep, the mayor of Pabu, offered to be your officiant for the wedding. He stands behind the two of you.

"Greetings, all." He begins. "Today is a very special day, as I'm sure all of you are aware. We are gathered here to celebrate two of the finest individuals I have ever met."

Tech smiles at you, giving one of your hands a gentle, comforting squeeze. 

Shep continues with the introduction. "Thank you all again for being here. Today, we will recognize the separate journeys that brought Tech and Y/N together, and we will lead them towards the new journey that they will embark on together in marriage."

"By marrying each other, you two will acknowledge the responsibilities that come with marriage. You will protect each other, stand up for each other, and continue to love each other no matter what. I have no doubt that you two will be able to take on those responsibilities and carry them out exceptionally well." Shep then nods at the two of you, signaling that you can begin saying your wedding vows.

Tech takes a deep breath, then begins, "I was always told that I was hollow. Emotionless. Others told me that my brain seemed more machine than man. I believed that I was heartless, and that my logic and intelligence were the things that would benefit me the most throughout my life. This facade was broken, however, when I met you, Y/N. You were, and are, the first person that I felt truly connected to. The person that now I am proud to say that I am completely in love with. You refuted my hypothesis that I couldn't love someone, and I am forever grateful that you did. You have stayed with me through every adventure and hardship. You've never given up on me, even when the probability of my survival was near zero. You have seen me for all that I am, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, Y/N."

As Tech was saying his vows, you felt tears of happiness form in your eyes. He grins at you, and you grin back. You take a few moments to calm yourself down before saying the vows that you've been practicing for a long time.

"Before I met you, I was hopeless. I had just lost everything. I expected that I would be captured by the Empire, and that I would spend the rest of my life in a prison cell. That was until I was saved, literally and metaphorically, by you. You've protected me and made me feel safe. You are the most empathetic and intelligent person I have met in my entire life. You've trusted me from the beginning, even when it seemed like the rest of the galaxy didn't. You've helped me to realize that I'm allowed to experience love, and that it's more than chemicals in our minds. You are my everything, Tech. I can't wait for us to be husband and wife, and to go on many new adventures together."

As you finish saying your wedding vows, you swear for a second that you saw a tear of joy forming in one of Tech's eyes. You've been able to hear Wrecker sobbing during the entirety of the exchange of wedding vows.

     Hunter gives your ring to Tech, and Tech's ring to you. Tech starts by putting your ring on your left ring finger. You then do the same for him. After Shep makes your marriage official, he says, "You may now kiss the bride."

Tech smiles for a moment before leaning in to kiss you. Everyone in the audience claps, and you and Tech turn to face the audience. You and Tech hold hands and walk down the aisle to the location of your wedding reception. Your heart is racing. Tech is your husband now, and you're his wife. 

You two reach the location for the wedding reception. It's on one of the upper levels of the island. Tables of food and drinks are prepared, waiting for the guests to show up. You and Tech stand at the edge of the balcony. The sun is beginning to set now, and it reflects on the water beautifully. 

Tech turns to you. "I love you, my darling wife."

"And I love you, my amazing husband."

Tech smiles once again and leans in to kiss you again, the woman he always knew would be his wife someday...
