"Hold on!" Obi Wan warned as the gunship rattled and the sound of blasters raged around my ears. I followed his order and reached for the same column that Padme and Anakin now held tightly.
"I was about to say that! " Maven yelled back, who was holding onto the edge of the open hatch that Obi Wan held tightly as well. "Fire at the top of the fuel cells!" I commanded. As the gunship flew by, they hit one of the fuel cells, causing them both to topple to the ground.
Obi Wan turned to me with a big smile and gave me an encouraging nod. "Good call, my young Padawan." He praised me and a proud grin pulled at the corners of my mouth.
"Block their communications systems." Anakin ordered then as I turned my head back and caught a glimpse of one gunship that had been hit and was now sinking to the ground.
The other, carrying Master Windu and Master Yoda, landed a few seconds later, and Master Windu exited the ship with a leap before activating his lightsaber and popping out the purple blade. Below, a Jedi led a unit of Unknown Warriors in white armor against troops of the Droid Army.
"Attack those Federation starships. Quickly!" Obi Wan ordered one of the soldiers in our gunship, pointing to a large ship about to take off. The starships began to rise up. "They'll be retreating soon." Maven muttered to himself as he watched the battle below;our troops advancing. He received no further comment, but frustrated gasps as the starships began to rise.
My vision was soon obscured by dust. Apparently, the ground troops had managed to destroy one of the ships. In the distance, I heard the plaintive sound of an alarm, and as soon as the dust began to let the air disintegrate, I regained my vision.
"Look over there!" Obi Wan and Maven shouted at the same time. A few meters ahead of us I spotted three speeder craft that seemed to be carefully but quickly trying to escape across the red dunes of Geonosis. "That's Dooku! Shoot him down!" Anakin added as he too spotted the speeder.
"We're out of rockets, sir." One of the pilots replied him, trying to hide the stress in his voice before turning forward again. "Then follow him!" I commanded immediately, and Padme almost recoiled, surprised by the hint of anger in my tone. "Yes, sir." The same pilot replied me.
"We're gonna need some help!" Padme shouted over the hum of the engine, but Maven shook his head. "There's no more time for that!"He said to her and got a worried look from Padme. "Timothee,Anakin,Maven and I can handle this!" Obi Wan then assured her.
She was about to respond, but our gunship was suddenly hit, causing it to back up. Padme screamed loudly and before the four of us could see, Padme fell to the ground and rolled down a sandy hill, followed by a clone.
"Padme!" I heard my own voice echo and only now realized that Anakin had to hold me down so I wouldn't fall out of the gunship as well.
I turned to the other Jedi and the pilot. " Put the ship down! Now!" I demanded. My voice was iron and yet so full of fire. "Timothee, don't let your personal feelings get in the way!" Obi Wan admonished me,and then turned back to the pilots. "Follow that speeder."
