You're the assistant of Adolf K Weismann. Even if you're just work a part-time job there since you're just a college student, you usually help him with his research. Now he's doing some experiment using mice.

"Hey, (l/n), come here for a moment.."

"Umm.. Yes?"

"Please help me to put this on that table.."

He hand me a pile of papers and our hands touched. You blushed since you had a crush on him. As you put the papers, you stared at his tall figure and felt like you could watch him forever.

~time skip~

It's nearly 3 p.m. when you went back from lunch and found him still examining his works. You saw his lunch on the table near him still untouched.

"Weismann?"

He glanced at you, "Oh, (l/n).."

"You know, you should take a rest.. You'll sick if you continue like this"

He smiled, "It's alright~ You don't have to worry, I'll be okay.."

You sighed as you walked towards him, "Of course I'm worried. You even forgot to eat your lunch.."

His eyes widened, "Eh? Really?"

He looked around and found his lunch still untouched.

He chuckled, "Seems like you're right~ I can eat later.."

"Fine.. But don't get yourself sick, okay?"

He smiled, "Okay~ Don't worry about that.."

You just sighed and walked towards the door. As you started to walk, your arm accidentally bumped into a cage full of mice and made it fell off the table. Since you're afraid of mice (just pretend if you don't XD), you became panicked and hid behind Weismann.

"W-Weismann! H-help! T-the mice!"

He quickly caught all of the mice and put them back into the cage.

You sighed in relief, "Phew.. I almost got a heart attack"

He chuckled, "You're afraid of mice?"

You felt embarrassed that your cheeks reddened, "Y-yeah.."

He smiled as he patted your head lightly, "You should be more careful next time~"

You only nodded as you blushed.

'My heart beat really fast.. What should I do?'

You felt really awkward that you didn't know what to do.

He looked at your reddened face and poked your shoulder, "What's wrong? Do you have a fever?"

"E-eh? N-nothing! Thanks for helping me earlier"

"That's no problem~"

"I think I should go home now.. See you~"

With that you left him and went home.

~time skip~

You've worked there about 3 months and you've fallen in love with him, Adolf K Weismann, hard. Really hard. Everytime you close your eyes at night, you'll see his face. And he's always in your mind day and night which made you difficult to concentrate on everything. You're just went home from college and walked towards the laboratory. You decided to tell him your feelings after your work's done today. As you walked in, there's only Weismann in there that made your heart beat faster and faster.

"Afternoon, Weismann"

"Afternoon, (l/n)"

"Umm.. Where's everyone?"

"Oh.. Maybe they're still lunch, I guess.."

"I-I see.."

There was an awkward silence until the others came back from lunch. You started to continue your work. But still. You can't even concentrate a little. Your mind's full of thoughts about him that you took longer to finish your work.

~time skip~

"It's finally done.."

You sighed as you finished your last task. You decided to submit your work to Weismann. But as you walked towards his laboratory, you remembered that at this time, there will be only him in the laboratory. You felt nervous as you walked in.

"Umm.. Weismann.."

"(L/n)? You haven't gone home yet?"

"Well, actually it's already time for me to go home.. But I want to submit my work first.."

"I see.. It took longer than usual"

"Yeah.. I couldn't concentrate at all.. It seems like my mind's full"

He smiled, "You need to relax. Don't take things too seriously"

"O-okay.."

And there's an awkward silence. Again. You wanted to tell your feelings but you feared to be rejected. After a few minutes, you finally encouraged yourself to tell him.

"Umm.. Weismann, I-I have something to tell you.."

He smiled with his warm and comforting smile as usual, "What is it? You can tell me anything"

"I-I love you.."

His eyes widened in shock and didn't say anything for a few minutes.

You're so nervous and afraid to hear his answer. And your heart beat fast like crazy.

"I-It's alright if you don't love me back.. I'll just take my leave then"

You're just want to leave when he grabbed your wrist.

"Wait. Don't just leave.. I haven't told you if I love you or not. So please hear my answer first.."

You turned around and saw his serious expression.

You stared deeply at his grey eyes, waiting for his answer.

He looked confused for a moment.

Then bent down towards your level and suddenly closed the gap between both of you.

You blushed madly as he pulled away.

He smiled. The smile's different from the other smiles you've ever seen. This smile's looked more gentle and warm.

"I love you too, (f/n). Don't leave again, okay?"

You smiled as you hugged him tightly, "Okay. I promise I won't leave you."

He chuckled as he wrapped his arms around you, "I'll walk you home"

You nodded and both of you walk together under the light of the sunset.
