Getting his book turned into a movie was a dream, not only Jimin's but every authors'. It's an honor that Jimin is endlessly grateful for.
Jimin used to dream about being published for years before he got his first book deal. For years he was staying up at night, imagining scenarios in which he is a popular author, signing his book, and talking to people who enjoyed it.
Then his dreams slowly started to turn into reality. First was a book deal, then his book gained popularity. The day Jimin got his book signing he was a nervous wreck, barely able to stutter out shy thank yous to his readers, his handwriting shaky.
By now he is well used to sign-ups, as book deals are his daily life although they still make him nervous and excited. Talking to his fans will probably never be something he gets used to, he always gets emotional when people praise his writing.
But getting his vision turned into a movie? This dream Jimin tucked away far, far away from anyone's gaze. He felt silly even dreaming that his books would make any movie director inspired and willing to put their name on a story Jimin has created in his mind. So it came with a shock when one day Jimin picked up a phone call from his agent who offered him a movie deal.
Jimin still thinks he blacked out for a second when he heard that.
Choosing the right director wasn't easy but in the end, Jimin felt like he made the right choice.
Jeon Jungkook has an amazing style. Jimin loves to watch his movies. He loves every single aspect of the movies, especially the way Jungkook is able to show emotions through colors and music, making you feel exactly what the characters are feeling.
The story Jungkook wants to turn into a movie is one that Jimin feels like they both can resonate with, and it assures him that he made the right choice. It's a simple story, coming of age of a young boy who learns to accept who he is, and who he loves. It's romantic and heartwarming, a simple romance he always wished to be able to read when he was growing up.
Other directors were amazing, talented, and well respected but Jimin doubts the story of a young gay man can be told well by a straight director. No matter how good they are, they will never understand the struggles of being openly gay in South Korea. Jungkook gets it, it's part of his life journey.
Today is the first day Jimin will see Jungkook face to face. He seems like the kind of man who doesn't like wasting time. Everything is moving so fast, and smooth. Jimin is surprised how close they are to starting working on set. It's an important day for the whole production so it's understandable that Jimin is a bit stressed.
Between the screenwriters, Jimin found icon such as Min Yoongi who were nominated for many awards. They also are frequently working with Jungkook, which made the work so much smoother.
The months Jimin spent working with those people flew by fast, and before he knew it, the screenplay was completed and accepted.
On the day of the audition, Jimin arrives at the venue way before time. He hopes he is well prepared after he studied a thick folder of actors who will be auditioning. He might not have a clue about acting but he knows what type of men he wants to represent his characters.
It's still early and the front door is closed. He really should stop coming in for stuff before the set time. Jimin decides to use this time for a sweet breakfast at a cafe he can see, and maybe he can write a bit.
The cafe is quiet, with only a few people sitting inside. Jimin can order his latte and a piece of cake as soon as he walks up to the counter. With that done, Jimin turns around, taking one look around before he spots a perfect looking table in the corner. The light hits the space perfectly and it's just tucked away enough for him to not be distracted.
Jimin takes off his coat, putting his laptop bag on the table, ready to set up before his breakfast will arrive. The seat is just comfortable enough, not too high and not too low. Jimin hit the jackpot with this spot. Maybe he will be back to this cafe, hoping this exact table will be free.
Someone clears their throat above him.
"Oh!" Jimin starts moving his stuff to the side, making space for his breakfast. "Thank y-" Jimin looks up, a warm smile on his face, ready for his coffee and cake. The smile turns into a confused pout when instead of a sweet barista, Jimin spots an angry-looking man towering over him
The man is wearing a black mask, dark hair falling into his eyes but Jimin can still detect a stormy expression on the man's face. It doesn't sit right with him.
"Yes?" Jimin asks, keeping a polite smile on his face.
"This is my table." The man answers coldly.
