Jungkook sighs tiredly, his eyes slowly blinking open but staying unfocused, staring in a blind spot somewhere on the couch. Jimin wants to hide, or run out of the room. The silence is killing him, and he has no idea what to do with himself other than awkwardly stand next to the couch, eyes avoiding Jungkook's. Slowly he reaches out, putting his palm on the top of Jungkook's forehead only to find it extremely hot.
"Do I look okay?" Jungkook grumbles, not saying anything about the cold palm on his face.
He retracts his hand almost as if Jungkook has burned him, Jimin's eyes catching eye contact with the director, "You argue with me just fine, so I guess you are." He says coldly, arms locking on his chest in full defense mode.
He doesn't hold eye contact for long, pulling his eyes away from Jungkook's to observe the naked walls of the small space. Jungkook stares at him silently for a long time, making Jimin feel more uncomfortable than it has to be.
"Bickering with you is stronger than death," Jungkook murmurs in a deep voice, slowly pushing himself into a sitting position.
Jimin automatically turns on his flight response, "This isn't bickering!" He swears, eyes still avoiding eye contact although he observes every move Jungkook makes, "We're not friends."
Jungkook chuckles dryly, which turns into a deep, violent cough, "You know what," He says once he fishes out a bottle of water from under the jacket. "You're completely right." Jimin looks at him, eyebrows raised in surprise. It's not every day Jungkook just admits Jimin is right. "Enemies have so much more room for possibilities. You of course know it, as an author."
Jimin is a bit lost, not sure what exactly Jungkook is talking about but he blames it on the sickness.
Jungkook gets up, stretching his arms up (and Jimin surely doesn't follow the hem of his shirt rolling up to reveal some of that smooth, hot abs disappearing under the band of his underwear).
"Let's go to work," Jungkook says, not looking any better than he did just a few seconds ago.
"Are you going to work all day sick?" Jimin asks, worry seeping through in his tone.
Jungkook just sighs, pulling out a face mask on his face, shoulders rolling back, "It's not like you would do it for me."
Jimin is left behind, watching Jungkook make his way to the door, "Maybe I can't do that but I surely can shorten your misery, you old sack of potatoes." He snaps at Jungkook, ready to fight.
Jungkook looks back, hand on the doorknob, and even in that stupid mask, Jimin can see a smirk on his face. "You see, so much more tension. Friends is a boring concept in arts."
That throws Jimin off his fighting mood. He tilts his head slightly, not even sure what he should ask before Jungkook opens the door, leaving it wide open after himself. His heart is acting weird, and his palms are weirdly sweaty. He can guess why but maybe it's better to pretend he is too dumb.
Jimin leaves the room in a rush, spotting the red mop of hair and chasing towards it until he almost runs face-first into his friend.
"Hoseok, that dumbass is so hot."
Hoseok looks back at him as if he is a total stranger, asking him if he has Jesus in his life, "I'm afraid to ask."
Jimin grunts in annoyance, feeling the need to stomp his foot, "Not like that! He has a fever!"
Hoseok looks over Jimin's shoulder, nodding, "Yeah, explains why he looks like a melted marshmallow."
Jimin stutters out in complete shock at how lightly Hoseok is taking it, "He is sick!"
Hoseok turns his eyes back at Jimin, a glint of something sinister in his eyes, "Look at you all worried," He puts his hands on Jimin's arms, running them up and down quickly, "Don't you worry, your man is a strong, responsible man. He will be fine."
"You call him that one more time-" Jimin warms his friend but gets disturbed when Seokjin and Taehyung suddenly appear.
Jimin has spent enough time around them to know they are not just innocently walking by. The actor turned out to be the biggest eavesdroppers on the whole set.
"What's wrong?" Seokjin asks, trying very hard to sound like he doesn't already know.
"Jimin is just a bit worried about Jungkook," Hoseok explains, making it sound like it's a completely normal thing to say.
"Am not," Jimin barks, freeing himself from Hoseok's arms. "He can drop dead right here and now."
"So you can perform CPR on him?" Taehyung chimes in, making everyone but Jimin laugh.
Jimin stomps away with a red face, the laugh of his friends echoing around the set.
"What is so funny there?" Jungkook asks with a deep murmur, eyes half-closed.
"Wouldn't you love to know?" Jimin answers sarcastically, throwing angry looks at his friends who are still watching him, laughing and making kissy faces. "You want soup?" Jimin asks, already getting off his chair, not waiting for an answer.
"Guess I'll have to nanny you for free," He throws angrily over his shoulder, spottingJungkook's surprised eyes following him pushing over the crowd to the food truck. "Don't look at me like that!" He says, throwing Jungkook a middle finger, which is immediately reciprocated.
Jimin manages to cure Jungkook back to health in a week, which is amazing because he doesn't know if he would be able to do that for much longer. He blatantly ignored every comment about how he does it on his own and nobody makes him do it, whenever he would start to tell anyone how much he isn't enjoying it. Someone had to do it! Jungkook needed food, he needed to be reminded to stay warm and he needed some good naps with nobody disturbing him.
Jimin takes good health seriously and he couldn't leave Jungkook to just ignore his sickness. He didn't do it with joy, or any kind of butterflies in his stomach whenever Jungkook would thank him or act incredibly cute while waking up from his nap. It was a completely professional work transaction because Jimin simply worries a sick director won't deliver a good movie.
Yes. Yes, yes, yes. Amazing thinking, reasoning so good it could be a thesis statement.
Back to full health Jungkook is more annoying than Jimin remembers. Jungkook is everywhere, full of energy and new ideas. It's a bit of a new experience, not that Jungkook wasn't energetic and full of ideas before but right now he acts almost like he is plugged into a charging point at all times.
Jimin side-eyes as Jungkook scribbles in the script, still Jimin's but by now it looks exactly like the copy Jimin grew used to over the last few weeks. He talks to Jimin a lot, mainly about changes he is putting, and Jimin has to say that he is enjoying those conversations, freely sharing his opinions. It feels refreshing, he feels happy sitting elbow to elbow, adding changes he never would think of if it wasn't for the director.
However, it appears that there have been made changes that Jimin wasn't aware of.
Just a few minutes ago Jimin was sitting in his chair, enjoying a nice cup of tea Jungkook brought while he went to get himself a coffee but now he is ready to jump out of it and raise hell.
