We hate each other

"I'm the author," Jimin says, in the same tone he gave him at the cafe.

Jungkook's face relaxes immediately, his lips parting, eyes growing a bit bigger, "Who would have thought," He says, tilting his head to the side. "That such a beautiful story is written by someone like you."

Jimin almost flinches, "Are you done crying about 'your' table?"

Namjoon look at both of them, confused and a bit uncomfortable.

Jungkook laughs but there is no joy in it. He gives Jimin a cold look, leaning on the table, "Sit down, you are late."

Jimin wants nothing more than to leave this room. He would rather eat rocks than listen to this man, but the want to know more about the process of movie-making is stronger than his dislike for the director. "Fine," He snaps through gritted teeth. "But not because you told me to."

This feels like a scene from a dream. On one hand, it makes sense that the one time Jimin gets confrontational it's going to be with a movie director he has to work with. But on the other, are you fucking kidding him?! Really?! Of all people on this planet, it had to be Jeon Jungkook, who he almost fist fought over a table at a cafe.

Maybe it's good. He caught Jungkook in the wild, away from people who praised his every breath, and found out the awful truth about that man. The auditions only assure Jimin in his new opinion on the director. He is an asshole, rushing through the auditions, cutting people off before they can finish their lines.

He feels offended for the actors, who act like it's completely normal behavior like they did their part and just walk out. If it would be Jimin he would jump over that table and pull that stupidly healthy, black hair out of that idiot's scalp.

The amount of anger Jimin feels towards the director makes him exhausted. He doesn't feel like himself but any time Jungkook speaks something nasty stirs deep in Jimin's gut.

Nobody pays any attention to Jimin through the hours or asks about his opinion. Frankly, he doesn't have much to say but still. It's his book they are talking about. Of all actors, he finds Kim Taehyung and Kim Seokjin the most suitable for the main roles but he isn't even sure when to bug-in with his opinion.

But how do you talk about your opinion to someone like Jungkook? The very thought makes Jimin boil inside. The fact that he sees so many recognizable faces paying him even a drop of respect, makes him lose his mind as he sits there, trying not to pull on his hair. Can't they see just how awful he is? Well, maybe they would open their eyes if they would sit at a random table.

Ridiculous.

"Jimin-ssi?" Namjoon's voice brings Jimin back to here and now.

Jimin's head snaps to the side, "Yes?"

"I was asking if anyone caught your attention."

Behind Namjoon Jimin can see Jungkook huff, twisting his lips into an angry pout, "Jimin-ssi is visibly not here, I doubt he was paying attention."

Well, well, well. And he doesn't even have the gut to look at Jimin as he says it? He has to twist his stupidly expensive pen, looking ahead of himself as if Jimin isn't even here? He has to be fucking kidding.

His chest puffs out automatically, his lips pursing out, brows coming together in a frown, "Excuse me?" Jimin snarls directly at Jungkook.

Jungkook lazily turns his eyes towards Jimin, his gaze passive, seemingly bored out of his mind, "You heard me." He answers Jimin simply.

"If you have to know, Jungkook-ssi," Jimin puts extra anger into the name. "I was paying attention until you started babbling with your nasty attitude." Jimin hears a gasp, he thinks it's Namjoon. "You think you're so amazing but all you are is a fucking disrespectful ass hat."

Jungkook's lips are parted, "And says who?"

Jimin gets up, the chair falling with the force he pushes himself up, "Says Park Jimin, the author of many award-winning books," He points out with pride. "Author of the book that gave you this job."

"I think you give yourself too much credit-"

"No," Jimin cuts Jungkook off. "I'm not your employee. We're equal no matter if you like it or not."

There is a moment of heavy silence before Namjoon puts his hand around Jimin's writs, getting his attention, "Could you sit down?" He asks softly.

Jimin clears his throat awkwardly, nodding sharply before he bends down to get his chair. The silence stretches out into what feels like hours. Jimin doesn't look at Jungkook, keeping his eyes ahead of himself, even if he can feel the burning gaze on him.

"So," Namjoon claps his hands cheerfully, making everyone else jump at the sudden noise. "It's obvious you guys have some sort of history," He keeps on going, sounding like a kindergarten teacher. "But I hope we can get along."

"Right!" Namjoon jumps in. "Now, Jimin-ssi if you could go back to the question. Did anyone get your attention?"

Jimin nods sharply, a stubborn pout on his lips, "Yes, I have my favorites."

"Cool!" Namjoon cheers. "Ah! I love working with people who want to be part of the process." He keeps on rambling happily. "Well, who is it?"

"Kim Taehyung and Kim Seokjin," Jimin says, trying to stop the smile from growing on his lips. Namjoon's energy is infectious.

There is a snort and Jimin doesn't have to wonder who it was, he knows right away.

"Such an obvious choice," Jungkook says, more to himself than anyone but his eyes are right on Jimin.

"Maybe because it's the only good one," Jimin says, presumably to himself, watching his nails.

Namjoon chuckles stiffly, "I'm sure you guys will be friends in no time."
