In the heat of the moment

There have been many changes, some radically changing how the words from the book are understood but Jimin is completely fine with those. There is one scene that Jimin never agreed to change and for a good reason, it's important the way it is and it speaks volumes about who the characters are what they were hiding from themselves and each other for years.

This is the scene that was the reason for this book to happen in the first place.

Jimin fumes for a while in the chair, watching Jungkook go with the actors through the scene, eyes burning into the back of Jungkook's head. Waiting. He wants to give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he is just hearing wrong. In the meantime, he snatches open the script, eyebrows deeply furrowed as he aggressively searches for the right page.

There. He finds the scene. One of the few scenes that aren't scribbled over.

Finally, the set goes quiet as Seokjin and Taehyung stand in front of each other. Jimin already doesn't like it, they seem sad, not angry the way Jimin envisioned this scene to be. It's the only scene in the whole book where emotions are stronger than what they know to be good for them, safe and in roams of social norms.

Jimin watches with his eyebrows furrowed at the nearest monitor. There should be screaming, there should be angry tears in their eyes and Jimin can barely even hear them. He looks down at the script, eyes following the words he can barely make out Taehyung say. From the script, Jimin can clearly read the emotions but in front of him Kim Seokjin and Kim Taehyung are mumbling, whispering, the touches so delicate. Too delicate. They are talking about years of pain.

This is wrong. Why is Jungkook telling them to act like this? This is the moment in which his characters come out to each other, letting out all the fear, anger. It's full of passion, it's a triumph of freedom of love.

Once they kiss, lightly, barely there and Jungkook leads them through it with praises, he can't take it any longer.

"No! No, no, no!" Jimin finally snaps, getting up from the chair so aggressively it almost falls back.

Everyone freezes. Jimin can see in the monitor the shock on Seokjin's face. Jimin makes his way to the very front, where Jungkook is already waiting for him, script in hand, glasses sliding down his nose.

"What is it?" Jungkook asks, lightly, clearly unaware of just how angry Jimin is now. This isn't some bickering, this is serious.

Jimin tears the script out of Jungkook's hand and throws it on the ground, "This isn't how I wrote this scene!" He snaps at the director.

"This is exactly how it is in the script!" Jungkook says, throwing his hands in the air, his mood changing drastically. "This is how I interpret this scene."

Jimin takes a deep breath in, "Then you are doing it wrong! I'm sitting right next to you, what does it hurt to ask?"

Jungkook looks like he is about to blow up, "But this is how you wrote it!"

"No! You can't even read a script correctly! Who let you work on this movie!?" Jimin snaps back.

Jungkook just stands there for a second, eyebrows lifted, hands on his hips, "I don't know, who did?"

Everyone on the set is silent, watching how things will play out. Jimin doesn't care that he is causing a scene, this is the most important part of the book and he has a very vivid image of how it should happen. He won't let some director ruin it for him.

"Okay," Jungkook breaks the silence when Jimin refuses to answer the question, angry expression still on his face. "Then show me how it should be," Jungkook says, inviting Jimin on the set.
